"What's wrong, Rae?" Rose asks
"It's just.. maybe I shouldn't. Maybe this was all a mistake." Rae mutters
"Rae you know this was brave and were happy doing it right? "
"Of course."
"Then it wasn't the wrong thing to do."
"I don't know" raven shrugs
"So.. is the mirror up for grabs?" Jinx nudging in
"Shut up." Rose sasses
"Just give me sometime." Raven says before swimming away. It was two days. She felt lonely and missed Gar and wanted to see him
She swam up to the shore and watched him throw rocks in the ocean looking sad
"Garfield!" His mother yelled from their house
It startled raven and she ducked with a splash and Gar looked back suspicious
After sundown he went back out with his musical instrument and played it at the docks
She and rose watched him
"Maybe he deserves an explanation." Rose whispers
"Yea? Hey gar I'm sorry I left but it's because I'm afraid you would be put off by my tale!" Raven sasses
"Well don't get mad at me. Look, either tell him or stop coming here.. it will only hurt worse."
Raven sighs
Rose leaves and raven swims closer.
Hairs stand on the back of his neck. He feels a presence but doesn't know where it's coming from.
Raven lifts herself to sit on the dock. The night covering her tale.
" Rae?" Gars eyes widen and his mouth dropped
"Hi.."
"What are you doing? Where did you go? How did you??" Gar suspicious why she was in the water
"Gar.. I know I can't say anything that doesn't sound excusable.. but I'm sorry and I want you to know.. the truth"
Gar feeling obvious because nothing could prepare him for this
She leaned herself in the moonlight and it revealed her colored tale and her skin
Gar was shocked and startled. He jumped back.
It hurt raven to see him scared but knew it was coming. "I didn't mean to lie to you.."
After Gar was catching his breath he remembered raven. The girl he danced with and had a beautiful time with. He wasn't sure how this made sense.
"I. I don't understand.. how are you.. uh"
"I used magic to change me.. I just wanted to be like you." Her head down
He sighs and goes closer to her and lifts her chin up. "It's not like I changed how I felt.. I just thought this couldn't be true.." he chuckles "I guess the locals are right."
"What do you mean?"
"There has been rumors of a purple haired mermaid for years that watches people.. I guess those weren't rumors huh?"
"So.. I'm not too good of a hider." She sighs
"I'm glad you told me... but it doesn't make being without you any easier."
"I have one last time to form. Either a human or I stay this way.."
"What is it you want to do?"
"I.. I want to be with you." She holds up the mirror and Gar holds her hand.
"That's not necessary." He says before looking back. "Look meet me here in about 15 minutes."
She nods and he kisses her cheek
As he returns home he thinks about this experience he just had. He didn't want to be without raven but he didn't want to leave his family behind.
"Where you been?" His father asked
"Um.. I found raven."
"You did? Where is she?!" His mother hysterical
"That's the thing. She's with family. She wanted me to.. come with her.. if that's something you guys would feel comfortable with."
They looked at each other. "I think you two would be very happy together." His mother smiles
"And if she makes you happy, we're happy." His father added
Gar smiles and hugs them. Goes to pretend to pack and meets raven by the docks
"Gar? What's going on?" Raven confused
"There are two dreams I have. One was to travel and now the new one.. is You."
"And.. you could have both." Raven figured his plan
"Exactly.. only I don't know if.. your mirror works on me"
"I'm willing to find out.."
Gar held the mirror and worded the words and waiting if anything would happen he felt a knot in his stomach and groaned in discomfort and Rachel held his hand as he formed and they both splashed in the water.
Gar looked at himself and his tale is green and he can breath in the water and he laughed looking at his new form.
"Is this happening?" Gar in shock
"I think it has." Raven swims to him
Raven and Gar shared a long kiss embracing one another and swam to ravens home to show rose
