Kamado Tanjiro | Remember

"Y/N? Are you alright..?" Your kasugai crow questions, tilting their head at you.
You don't reply, you pat your crow on the head, looking ahead.

You eventually space out, your crow nuzzling your hands, trying to get you out of your gaze.

The door that was behind you, slams open, causing both you and your crow to get startled.

You quickly look behind you to find a checkered haori, red hair and red scar, an oversized box on his back, and a determined smile.

"Watch it! You almost knocked the feathers off of me!" Your crow snaps at Tanjiro, eventually flying off.

"I'm sorry!" Tanjiro raised his voice, apologizing quickly before turning his head towards you.

You look at him with confusion, pulling your legs up to your chin, blinking. Tanjiro smiles with empathy.

"Oh! Y/N! It's been forever since I saw you! I'm Tanjiro!" That name does sound familiar. "I heard you have amnesia?" Tanjiro pauses, pulling out a normal sized binder. "I'll help with that!" Tanjiro nods.

You slowly nod, trying not to talk as much as possible. You stare at him for awhile until he catches you. "Something wrong?" Tanjiro asks, tilting his head to the side a little.

You look away, shaking your head side to side. Looking at Tanjiro's box. Somehow that looks familiar.

"Oh, well. Let's get started now!" Tanjiro let out a chuckle, sitting down next to you with the binder in his hand. You eye the binder when he opens it.

"That's me, as you can see." Tanjiro pointed to his picture. You nod, catching your yawn as you try not to be rude.

Tanjiro was prepared to meet you again. He'd take pictures of almost everyone so you could remember.

"This is Nezuko. My sister." You look at the box, then the picture of Nezuko. You stare at it confusingly. Nezuko also sounds familiar along with Tanjiro.

Tanjiro flipped the page, inhaling.
"And this is my friend-"

"Wait go back." You cut Tanjiro off, speaking in a soft tone, quickly.

"Something wrong?" Tanjiro looks at you with a smile. "You have a beautiful voice. You should use it more." Tanjiro nods with a bigger smile on his face than before.

Your heart skipped a beat as Tanjiro complimented you. You nod quickly, pointing at the page. You set your hands in your lap, fidgeting with them.

Tanjiro notices your distress, due to his sharp sense of smell. Tanjiro set the book to the side. "Y/N, are you okay?" Tanjiro asked with concern in his eyes and tone. You exhale, nodding. "We could talk about it if you'd like." Tanjiro sat against the wall, trying to keep a straight posture.

"No, I'm fine." You respond, giving a faint smile. Tanjiro nods, deciding not to make it worse. Tanjiro eventually flips the page back. "This one?" He'd ask, looking at you once more.

You nod, pointing to the picture of Nezuko. "Oh, my sister? Her name is Nezuko." You blink, inhaling sharply. "You have a sister? Wasn't it something special about her..?" You exhale, asking Tanjiro.

"Oh, yeah!" Tanjiro nodded. "My sister is a demon. Though, she isn't a threat to humans." You look at Tanjiro confusingly. "Why do you have a demon around? And where is it?" You speak up more, sitting up straight.

"Oh, don't worry. Like I said, she's my sister, and she stays in that box when it's daytime." Tanjiro explains.

"Be honest Y/N, do you remember anything?" Tanjiro asked, staying quiet.

You hesitate, trying to find anything that you remember. You shrug, clenching your chest as you pull your legs up to your chin. You stuff your face into your legs in gulit.

"Oh." Tanjiro pauses. "That's alright. We'll do this one step at a time!" Tanjiro nods. You look at him. "I'm sorry..." You mutter.

"Sorry?" Tanjiro blinked. "Don't apologize! Please don't!" Tanjiro shook his head side to side with concern on his face again. "I'll try to come back tomorrow, alright?"

You slowly nod, trying to think of a away to keep Tanjiro here longer. "Do you have everything..?" You stand up. Tanjiro rose to his feet, stretching. "I think I have everything!" Tanjiro nodded.

Tanjiro walked up to you, wrapping his arms around your torso. You feel your body heat up as Tanjiro hugs you. Eventually, it all comes flooding back to you.

Tanjiro. The person you've trained with, fought with, and so much more. You hug Tanjiro back. "Tanjiro. I remember..." You pause. "...We used to do everything together." You hug him tightly.

"Used?" Tanjiro raised a brow. "We can still do things together if you'd like." Tanjiro lets go of your torso as you do the same.

"Oh, uhm, yes! Yes please..!" You nod eagerly. "Alrighty, then." Tanjiro chuckled. "I'll be heading off. Glad to help!" Tanjiro walked out the room as you slowly follow.

By your scent, Tanjiro already knows you were behind him all this time, though he ingored it. Tanjiro went outside as you stand on the front porch, waving goodbye. Tanjiro returns the gesture, walking off.

You sit down on the porch, your crow eventually landing next to you. "So, did it work?" They'd question.

"It did." You rub your crow's feathers. "And I'm glad I remember."
