~*~ You enter the Butterfly Garden with a tray of snacks layed down separately on the tray, along with two cups that held water. With great balance, you were able to return to your seat without spilling or dropping anything.
You tend to talk with the sound pillar, Tengen the most. He's a bit loud for your liking, but has humor towards himself. You also have a blank face most of the time, meaning you do let your emotions show that much.
Rengoku is also one of your best friends. Your first ever friend before Tengen. Though, you spend more time with the sound pillar, Rengoku feeling a bit left out. The flame pillar eventually developed a feeling that made him feel a bit sickly. That feeling was called jealousy.
Rengoku entered the garden, spying on you and Tengen for a bit, before approaching you two. In the corner of your eye, you see a glimpse of a bright cape. You turn your head as Tengen stops his mouth from running.
“Hello, Rengoku.” You gave a calm greeting, along with a visible smile. You only show a bit of emotion towards Rengoku. He gave a big smile towards you. “Hello.” Rengoku said a bit lower than usual, eyeing the sound pillar a bit.
A bit shocked, Tengen gave a look at your soft smile towards Rengoku. Tengen glanced at the flame pillar, staying quiet before he welcomed Rengoku.
Silently, Rengoku sat down next to you with a small smile smeared on his face. Tengen instantly knew what was going on, meanwhile, you stood there between the two pillars, maintaining a blank face on the outside, but a very confused, expression on the inside.
Tengen rose to his feet, grabbing his cup of water and two rice balls in the process. “I'll be heading off now.” Tengen said with a smirk slowly forming on his face. Rengoku gave a quick, reliefed and happy nod to his head as you repeated, though it was a bit hesitant.
Though, Tengen was out of the eye's view, he really didn't leave the scene, only spying on your two, hoping to see anything romantic between you two. Getting permission first, Rengoku took a rice ball, taking a chomp out of the mashed rice. He started his loud chanting, quickly getting used to it after a few minutes go by.
You take small nibbles out of your food, growing a bit drowsy as you lean on Rengoku's side, slowly pulling the food away from your mouth. Rengoku gave a smile, resting his head on yours gently.
“Y/N..?” Rengoku tapped your shoulder, getting your attention. You open one of your eyes to see him in your face a bit. A bit startled, you lean back a bit, staring at the flame pillar for a moment. “Ah, apologies. I seemed to startle you.” Rengoku apologized with a soft chuckle under his breath. You slightly shook your head. “No worries.” You reply quickly and a bit silently.
“A strange feeling occurred when I seen you with Uzui. I have no clue what it is, though.” Rengoku's smile faded a bit as he eyed the ground. You blink at him with a exhale. “Rengoku, were you.. jealous?” You questioned, Rengoku lifted his head up, tilting it to the side. “Really?” He seemed more confused than you.
Your faint smile got a bit bigger. “I think so.” You pause, taking a breath. “If so, why?” You quietly questioned, leaning towards him a bit. “Well, um.” Rengoku stood hesitant for a moment before continuing. “Perhaps seeing you with Uzui made me feel this way. I feel a bit left out, honestly.” Rengoku lowered his head with a small exhale. You gave him a quick side hug, rubbing his two toned colored hair back and forth with a smile.
“Aw, Rengoku..” You mutter under your breath, stilling hugging him in the process. “I didn't realize.” You stuff your face into his haori as he slowly returns the hug. “No worries..!” Rengoku chuckled a bit, patting your shoulder as he lets go of your torso. You two spend the rest of the time joking around, eventually dozing off into a peaceful sleep.
Tengen also remembered this moment, telling others in the future.
