~*~ You and Zenitsu were basically a couple. Inseparable. You were formerly female, but somethings have changed overtime.
“Y/N, I'm reaaady..!” You heard a voice from the other side of the changing room. It was most definitely Zenitsu. He was waiting right outside of the changing area, humming some sort of tune.
“Okay, give me a second..” You replied to Zenitsu, looking at the two options you're stuck on. One of the clothing had a dress, another, more formal-like, like a man. Somethings have changed overtime means your gender. You came out as non-binary.
“Y/N? No rush but.. it's getting late out.” Zenitsu spoke once more with a nervous chuckle under his breath, swaying his body side to side as he grew nervous and impatient.
“Hold on.” You mutter, quickly grabbing and putting on the dress option. You decide to tell Zenitsu later about the change in gender.
Hours go by as you two come back from where you left, collapsing on the soft beds with small laughs. You mess with Zenitsu's mop-like hair with a grin as he got a little startled at your action.
“Mop-hair.” You slightly tease at Zenitsu, showing half of your tongue. “Mop-hair?” Zenitsu repeated with a low voice. You open your mouth again, only to be disrupted by a door swinging wide open, hitting the other side of the wall.
Zenitsu flinched almost falling off the bed as you got a little startled as well. “Inosuke?” You blinked, observing his features. He didn't look like himself this day. Inosuke appered to have a crafted chain with his boar head halfway on. Plus, the glasses were made out of sticks and tape. Tanjiro was standing behind him with a shrug, shaking his head.
“That's right! Inosuke! Not only your king, but you're freestyle god!” Inosuke huffed proudly, Zenitsu staring at him like he went out of his mind, which he probably did. You eye Tanjiro, giving a confused smile towards him.
“Not a great idea teaching those words to him over and over I see...” Tanjiro chuckled under his breath, sitting down on one of the beds as Inosuke quickly copied. Zenitsu huffed, a bit annoyed. “Don't worry, Zenitsu. Just act like they aren't here.” You pat him on the back as he gave a slow nod.
A sudden shatter noise startled everyone in the room. You take a glance at the floor, noticing a broken mirror right by Inosuke's foot. Your eyes flicker towards his direction, giving him a squint to your eyes. Inosuke squinted back as you looked away from him. Tanjiro later had to handle him like an obnoxious puppy.
“Well, that's hard to imagine that.” Zenitsu muttered under his breath with a huff. You pause, ending up staring at the broken mirror for a moment. Zenitsu tapped your shoulder, causing you to snap out of your dozing a bit.
“Are you okay?” Zenitsu asked concerningly with a few blinks. You gave a nod to your head. “Um, Zenitsu, I have something to say.” You mutter, Zenitsu staying quiet as he shook a bit.
“Zenitsu, I'm not formally female.” You spoke, Zenitsu pausing a bit, giving a head tilt. “What?” He said quietly, a bit of sadness and confusion showing through his voice. “What do you mean..?” Zenitsu questioned.
“I'm non-binary.” You quickly reply, staying quiet as Zenitsu shook his head in a 'no' manner. He maintained eye contact as he spoke again. “Really?” Zenitsu muttered as you gave a slow, hesitant nod.
Zenitsu shook his head once more, hugging your side. “That's... okay.” Zenitsu paused, hugging you with a soft smile. “We'll still be together, right?” He asked, lifted his head up. “Together forever.” You reply, hugging him back.
“Hey! I wanna join too!” Inosuke spat out, getting out of Tanjiro's grasp to hug you both. It didn't bother you, nor him.
Only as along as you two were together.
