October 3, 1996.

i arrived to the hospital and everyone was gathered around the admit desk dancing. music was playing.

"what's going on here?" i aksed

an unfamiliar face stuck out his hand

i shook it.

"donald anspaugh, the new chief of staff"

"y/n l/n, nice to meet you dr. ansaugh"

"you aswell"

i looked over to mark.

"i'm assuming the hospital isn't closing"

"nope"

i walked away, noticing susan.

"hey, susan, is hawaii calling for you yet?" i asked

"booked the trip, going in a couple days"

"i wish you could take me with you" i sighed

doug was in the drug lockup.

"they must've organized the drugs, i haven't been able to find anything in here"

"what are you looking for?"

"just plain old lidocaine"

"it's right in front of you" i pointed

he snickered.

i began to walk away but then he tapped my shoulder.

i looked at him for a couple seconds, he opened his mouth to say something but nothing came out.

i checked on a couple patients. the er was dead for the most part. that's what happens when you work the night shift. there's nothing going on.

i yawned.

it was going to be a long night.
