a/n:
these two parts are purely just filler chapters and, are quite short so i decided to add them into one. i feel like they really give you a good glimpse of y/n though.. with that being said, much more exciting things are coming!

"so y/n? walk me through your concerns"
i thought about it for a second.
"that's a tough question to answer" i laughed
"well, you noted that you don't really have anyone to talk to at work, explain"
"well a couple years ago, all the way back to when i was an intern, i had a group, susan, carol, mark, doug we all were like a pack, you know?"
"how has that changed?"
"well susan left awhile ago, doug and carol are back together and mark is busy with life i guess"
"you were dating doug ross briefly, is that correct"
"yeah" i smiled
"is that something that is tough to overcome?"
"he and carol dated a long time ago, doug mark, susan and i were best friends when they split"
"their relationship wasn't that serious"
"then a couple years ago doug and i were together"
"why did you split?"
"well, at the time doug was going through a lot with his dad"
we were both silent
"i never really thought he'd mean so much to me"
"i mean, some days i don't think i'll ever move on from him"
"there's always that what if, if that makes sense"
"i mean it was so clear to me that it wasn't gonna work out"
"everyone knows doug and carol are meant to be"
"and that's what i keep hearing"
"but, i can't get my mind off him"
i started seeing a shrink, one far away from county. i didn't know if it was helping, i was hopeless, i didn't think much would ever get better. especially a couple days ago when doug came into my apartment i couldn't get him off my mind. that's when i wanted to take action. i didn't want to live so hung up over someone.

it was the last few days of my time off. i dialled the phone.
"hello?"
"hi mom"
"oh y/n!"
"i haven't heard from you in forever"
"i'm sorry mom, i've been so busy"
"how are you sweetie"
"i'm doing good, i wanna come home sometime soon"
"we'd love you home"
"your siblings aren't here right now but they're doing good too"
"how are you and dad?"
"your dad is ready to move to florida"
"that's your retirement dream, are you thinking of moving?"
"oh i don't know y/n"
"it's something to ponder about i guess"
"did you guys get my christmas card?"
i always sent my family money for the holidays
"yes we did, thank you my love"
"well, i just wanted to call to make sure everyone was doing well"
