Setting: A park

You and Heather sat side by side on a park bench, enjoying the day off after a long week of work. You often met Heather at this park to just spend time with her without having to go on extravagant dates.

As you and Heather laughed and shared stories, a beautiful brunette walked by, catching your attention, exuding confidence and grace. You couldn't help but stare for a moment, captivated by her presence.

In a soft voice, you mumbled out, "Damn!"

Heather stopped talking, then turned towards you, giving you a sharp glare. She felt a sudden urge to protect your relationship. She knew you didn't have feelings for the girl, but she couldn't help but feel a twinge of insecurity.

"What did you say?" Heather snapped, her voice growing louder.

You winced, then felt a pang of guilt. "I'm so sorry, Heather. I.. I didn't mean it. I just thought that girl was pretty, but you? You're the most beautiful girl in the world."

"Sure." Heather said, giving you a pout then crossing her arms.

You sighed, knowing that Heather needed some assurance. You wrapped your arm around her then kissed her cheek. "Heather, you're beautiful in a physical sense, yes, but I find you beautiful inside and out. Whenever you make those cute witty remarks, whenever you make me smile, and just brighten up my day in general, I find everything about you beautiful. Do you think you can forgive an idiot like me?"

Heather took in your words, feeling a blush creep across her cheeks. She held you tighter, remembering that you chose to be with her and to trust you. It was normal to find others attractive while in a relationship, and she tried to accept that.

"I guess I overreacted a little." Heather admitted, sheepishly. "But don't do that again, okay? Especially right in front of me. I just.. I don't want to lose you."

"I won't." You promised, squeezing her hand gently. "You mean the world to me, Heather."

"And you mean the world to me too." Heather whispered, leaning onto your shoulder.

She knew she had a lot of insecurities to work on, but she knew with trust and open communication, the relationship would only thrive.
