Haunted house - Ennui x reader

Setting: A Halloween haunted house

You and Ennui stepped into the dimly lit entrance to the Haunted House, engulfed in an eerie atmosphere. The air was thick with anticipation as you joined the line of thrill-seekers waiting to be scared out of their wits. There was shadows everywhere, along with creepy noises such as distant screams. 

As you both moved deeper into the haunted maze, you couldn't help but notice something peculiar about Ennui. While other participants were jumping at every corner, shrieking at unexpected surprises, Ennui remained mysteriously calm. 

You glanced at Ennui, with your eyes widening in disbelief, as a jump scare happened and he didn't bat an eye. You whispered, "Are you crazy?" 

Ennui turned his head slowly to meet your gaze. "Crazy? Nah, just perpetually in tune with the shadows," he replied, his voice as monotone as ever.

You furrowed her brows in amusement. "But Ennui, everyone else is jumping out of their skin! Don't you feel anything?"

Ennui's lips curled into a small smile. "Fear is a mere illusion, my dear Y/N. We're all characters in this dark comedy, and I've chosen to embrace my role as the unshakable enigma."

You couldn't help but chuckle at Ennui's poetic response as his smile grew a little wider. He wrapped his arm around you, walking with you further into the haunted house. 

Suddenly, a realistic ghost swooned into the air quickly going through Ennui's stomach, giving him the chills. 

"Shit!" He exclaimed, breaking his monotonic facade, and stepped back. 

You laughed, causing him to blush but he quickly regained his composure. He managed a soft chuckle, shaking his head. 

"I guess it's okay to get scared every once in a while." Ennui admitted, pulling you closer.
