Chapter 40

-Shelby's POV-

Last night was AMAZING! Everything after prom just went uphill. There is just something about being in Hunter's arms that make me feel protected, like nothing can hurt me.

No, Hunter and I did not kiss last night, but that is okay. I dont mind, I mean its not like we are a thing, or that he even likes me, which I must say I am still sad about that, but I will always be.

"Hey Shelbert!" Hunter yelled, coming into my bedroom door, making me jump.

"God Hunter! You freaking scared me!" I said, putting my hands over my heart.

"Sorry!" Hunter told me, jumping on my bed to take a seat.

"Yea, you better be!" I joked pushing him. "Sooo, what are you doing?"

"About to go hang out with the guys."

"Oh cool!"

"Yea. I'm staying with Aaron tonight."

"Oh cool-" I got cut off by my phone buzzing.

Alexis- Sooo the guys are having a night out! How bout girls night!? Haley, Katelynn, and Allysa are coming!

If you dont remember, Hayley is on my cheer squad. So are Katelynn and Allysa.

Me- Yea sounds great! What time?

"Who is that?" Hunter asked me.

"Oh, its Lexi. Looks like I'm staying with her tonight!"

"Hey maybe we can all hang! Aaron lives two houses down from her!"

"Yea totally!" Suddenly my phone vibrated again.

Alexis- About 4:30ish

Me- okay see ya then!

I set my phone down.

"What time are your wrong up with the boys?" I asked.

"In an hour. Soooo about four. What time are you leavin?"

"4:30." I said hopping off the bed and grabbing a bag to put clothes in.

I put my bra and underwear at the bottem, then I packed a tshirt and soffe shorts to sleep in, also packing another tshirt and denim shorts for tomorrow. Then I ran to my bathroom to grab my straightener and makeup.

"Wow! You pack fast!" Hunter exlaimed, zipping up my bag.

"Hold up! I have to have my phone charger!" I said, running to my wall and unplugging it, then quickly placing it in my bag.

"Can I zip it now?" Hunter asked.

"Go ahead." I told him, laughing.

"Well, I have to go pack also, so I will see ya later maybe. Love you!" Hunter said walking out of my bedroom.

"Love ya too." I said sitting on my bed, trying to figure out something to do.

"SHELBY!!!!!" Katelynn screamed running out of Lexi's house.

"Katelynn!" I said back. "Gosh, you saw me on tuesday!" I told her, giving her and everybody else a hug as I walked into the house.

"I know. Can a girl not want to hug a friend?!" She said, making me laugh.

"Hey Shelby!" Allysa told me.

"Heyyyyyy!" I said, dragging out the y.

"Sooo Shelby, how was prom?" Haley asked me.
