POV : Annie

The bell rang. time for lunch.

today I was wearing a big shirt, leggings, and my hair was in a messy bun. no make up. I mean, who was I trying to impress.

I had dark circles under my eyes because I got no sleep last night. I couldn't get Brennan out of my mind.

I was walking down the hallway to my locker, papers in my hands, when I bumped into someone.

"humph." I fell to the ground.

I began to gather my things with the help of the person who accidentally knocked me over. I put the papers all in one neat stack and looked up.

Brennan.

"I'm so sorry." he looked at me.

he held out his hand for me to grab to help me get up, but I got myself up and ran off to my locker.

I heard footsteps behind me and ran even faster.

I was almost to my locker when I felt someone tap my shoulder. I turned around and saw Brennan.

"Annie if you would just hear me ou-"

"I don't want to hear it." I interrupted him.

"Annie, please." he begged.

I sighed. "Brennan, I said no. go, please." I said to him.

he followed orders, turned around and trekked towards the cafeteria.

I bent down and put things in my locker and picked myself up.

i walked over to the cafeteria and got in the lunch line.

once I got my food I searched the room for Sydney.

I spotted her at a table and walked over to her.

"hey Syd." I said.

she perked her head up.

"hey ans." she smiled.

"where's Hayden?" I said as I sat down.

"with Brennan." she confessed.

"oh." I gulped.

"listen Annie, Brennan is so miserable without you. he needs you. and I think you need him." she said.

"I don't need him." I stabbed my fork in my salad.

I looked around the room and my eyes caught Brennan's.

I didn't move.

his dark chocolate eyes looked at mine, like they were begging for me to come back.

I just shook my head and sniffled, "I got to go."

I got up from the table, left my food there, and scurried out of the room.

I walked into the hall and ran.

I ran all the way out the doors and down the sidewalk. I ran until I found Caleb's bench.

I ran my name across the letter "c-a-l-e-b" and cried.

"why can't you be here." I said through my tears.

I crawled up on the bench in solitude and cried.

I called my parents, and they called the school telling them that I was "sick".

I heard the bell ring all the way from Caleb's bench.

yep, I stayed here for three hours. I needed some alone time.
