Prompt: You and Jefferson discuss the 'curse' and finally he hears something he's been wanting to hear for a while now. Finally you had told him, and he couldn't believe it.

You sat beside the man you had come to know ever since that woman, Emma Swan, came to town. You didn't know how you had never noticed him, and despite everyone thinking he was crazy (which you knew why), you still adored the man with all your heart.

"Jefferson..." you began, causing him to look over at you.

"Yes?" he asked.

"Do you... Do you really believe in all of that curse stuff?" You watched his face drop as he looked towards the floor, his face starting to twitch as he folded his hands in his lap.

"I've told you... It's real," he muttered, standing up and walking towards the window.

"But how do you know?" You stood up and followed him, putting your hand on his shoulder. "How do you know?"

"You think I'm crazy, don't you?" he asked, still not looking at you.

"Jefferson, no, I-"

"First my daughter and now my wife too..." He whispered, and you swallowed hard. Henry had mentioned you were his wife before, but how could you believe him? He was just a child with a book of fairy tales. But Jefferson? He sounded so genuine, like he truly believed. Strangely enough, you thought that maybe he wasn't crazy. That girl in the book looked a lot like you and you had to admit, you always felt like something was missing, like you weren't really you. Everything felt so fake.

"I just want proof so I don't sound crazy for believing you," you admitted, and with that, he snapped his head in your direction, his expression one of pure disbelief.

"What?" You thought you could practically hear his heart race, unless that was just yours.

"I mean, it adds up, doesn't it? And ever since Emma came, crazy stuff has been happening. The clock started moving again, wolves are coming out, no one seems to be able to even leave... Maybe you're right." You swallowed hard and then exhaled deeply. "Maybe..."

"Y/N- I mean-" You knew he'd slipped up before and called you that name, one that wasn't yours but was in that book of Henry's. "Why? Why do you believe me?"

"Honestly? Because I like the idea that something else is out there. I like the idea that I have a life that is better than this. And you know what? I like this, I like you, I like us. And if this curse breaks and I suddenly remember our life together, I still won't regret that me not remembering you happened because that means I got the privilege of falling in love with you all over again."

There was a silence between you two, one that made the air go still and one that made it feel as if the earth had been put on mute. But then, all at once, his smile lit a fire inside of you and his laughter broke barriers you didn't even know were possible.

"You love me... You love me?!" He picked you up and spun you around, his laughter echoing throughout the room. "You love me!"

"Yes, Jefferson, of course I do!"

"You don't even remember me but you still love me!"

You were laughing now too as he set you down, his arms holding your upper arms as he stared into your eyes.

"Tell me you love me again."

"I love you."

"Again."

"Jefferson-"

"Please, I've been waiting years for this, I've been waiting years to hear you say it again." His eyes were akin to those of a sad, kicked puppy, and you couldn't help but oblige.

"Jefferson, I love you with all my heart, forever. And I mean it."

He grinned and pulled you into him, your lips smashing together as your heart sped up, practically doing flips in your chest. You ran your hands up his neck, feeling the scar there, and up to his face, your hands pressed firm enough to pull him even closer to you.

Upon pulling away, he flashed you another grin, one full of genuine happiness. "After all this time, I can finally tell you I love you again."

You smiled at him, your heart still fluttering. "Then say it and keep saying it, because I'm not going anywhere."
