Chapter 61 - Lina's Thoughts (Special)

Lina's POV

Nilanghap ko ang malamig na hangin sa balkoniya, at naramdaman ko ang pagtuloy ng propesiya. The prophecy about the Triple Six. The prophecy where the greatest evil of all will rise. Kinakabahan nga ako para kay Meredith. I know they won't hold out for that long. The Guardians will do everything they can, not only them, but also the Insurgence.  The two groups are not strangers to one another. They are part of a bigger group that hides in the name of Infernal Illuminati.

"And what are we looking at my beautiful sweetheart?" Bigla nalang akong niyakap ng aking boyfriend mula sa likod.

I felt his chin above my shoulder. I rubbed his hair to mess it up and I answered him, "I'm just concerned about what's going on out there!"

"Yan ka na naman," tumabi siya sakin at sumandal sa aking balikat, "Akala ko pinatago kayo ng inyong High Priests mula sa Gadeon? Parang hindi mo kayang pabayaan ang mundo. It's a prophecy, no one can stop it!"

"But we can avoid it," humarap ako sa kanya, "It's what me and my other three fellow Hunters are doing, and it's working!"

"Look, I know how you feel about leaving the world behind just because you're following orders, but I think you'll need to let this one go okay?"

"And let the God of Darkness rise? I could not let that happen if they'll use my best friend as the final key to summoning him. Ivy is my best friend. She may have betrayed me and taken you away from me once, but I still can't afford to hear that she's going to be used again by evil!"

He sighed. Inakbayan niya ako at nagsalita siya ulit, "What can we do then about it?"

"I want to help. We want to help. But we cant disobey an order or we'll only contribute to the rise of hell! The only thing we can do is to talk to Ivy through her dreams and teach her to slowly accept the outcome of the coming truth. She's suffering from amnesia and she may have forgotten about her being a Hellmorph. If I could render her to accept that she's a half-demon, the other side would not be awakened and there will be no threat if she'll transform!"

"Hellmorph? Self-acceptance?" Napatanong siya, "Anong kinalaman ng self-acceptance sa pagiging Hellmorph niya?"

"May hawak na spell ang Infernal Illuminati kung saan kaya nilang kontrolin ang mga Hellmorph kagaya niya. But that spell will only work effectively if their target is under extreme sadness, depression,  hatred, and anger!"

"Emotions. The spell will only work well if they are affected by negative emotions. Then what does this have to do with her finding out about the truth?"

"Put yourself in her shoes Leonard. If you're happy living a new life with new friends, how would you feel if you'd find out that you are a half-demon? How would you react, if you'd learn that everybody's just lying and pretending, when they actually know you being the final key to the world's end?"

Naging speechless siya ng ilang segundo saka pa siya nakasagot, "Of course, I'll be depressed and extremely hurt. It just sucks when you'd discover that everybody's just being selfish about the truth!.......wait....I think now I get your point-"

"EXACTLY! That's why I'm teaching her how to accept herself. If I fail, then she'll fall to the spell!"

"It's more like a curse than a spell," sabi niya sakin at hinalika niya ako sa pisngi, "I'll go get you some coffee to calm you down!"

"No, coffee only boosts my adrenaline which would make me feel more anxious! I don't want to feel that tingling sensation as I think about the problem!"

"Okay, some hot chocolate then!" Umalis na siya at bumaba sa kusina namin upang ipaghanda ako ng tsokolate.

Tumingin ako sa baba ng balkoniya at nakita ko ang mga tauhan ng Ironhearts na namumuhay ng payapa. Ilan sa kanila ay pumupunta sa kani-kanilang trabaho sa sikretong lugar na ito.

Binuntonghininga ako at bumulong sa sarili, "When will the real peace come?"

Naisip ko ulit si Meredith. Ilang beses ko na siyang sinubukang kausapin sa kanyang mga panaginip pero hindi ko siya makausap. Isang gabi ay sinubukan kong kausapin siya sa isang panaginip, pero napansin ko na lasing siya. Ramdam na ramdam ko ang pagkahilo niya, kaya hindi ko natuloy ang pagpasok sa kanyang isip. Parang may umiistorbo sa kanya tuwing natutulog, at hindi ko tuloy mapasok. Parang nalulungkot yata siya nung mga gabing iyon.

"Here's your hot chocolate dear!" Dumating si Leonard sa aking tabi at inabot niya ang isang tasa na may laman na.

"Salamat ha," hinalikan ko siya sa pisngi.

Sabay kaming tumingin sa labas ng bahay at pumasok naman sa isip ko ang problema sa labas. Humigop ako ng mainit na inumin at gumanda ng koti ang aking pakiramdam.

Habang nagpapahinga sa balkonahe kasama ang aking boyfriend ay may huminto na lalaki sa baba namin. Tumingin siya saming dalawa at sumigaw, "General Lina. I carry important data that needs to be relayed to you right now. Permission to enter your house?"

"Permission granted," sabi ko sa kanya, "you may proceed. The guards will assist you!"

Naghintay kami ni Leonard, at pagkalipas ng thirty seconds ay umakyat na siya sa second floor at nakaharap namin siya.

Agad ko siyang nilapitan at tinananong, "What did you know?"

"We've received word from Xyndicate that they have detected a massive wave of Guardian forces heading their way. They believe that an attack is imminent. How do we respond general?"

Nag-isip ako ng maibalik na sagot sa kanila. Pagkatapos ng isang minuto ay sinabi ko na to sa lalaki, "Tell them that we'll send reinforcements from our alpha base right away. Contact Archane and Resurgence. We may need Zed and Kai-en's help!"

"Yes General!" Nagmadaling bumaba ang lalaki at tumakbo sa labas ng bahay.

Tumingin kaming dalawa ni Leonard sa kanya habang palayo siya sa tahanan.

"Sa tingin ko malapit na ang oras," sabi ko sa katabi ko, "I can sense it!"

"I hope for the best for us and them Lina..." he tapped my back as he said this.

"Me too Leonard. May Ivy and the others make it through all of this," pumikit ako at tumulo ang konting luha, "This is going to be a big battle, and the start of the new war!"
