Inu Colony Invasion Arc Chapter 8: Hikari's Resolve!

"What's wrong? Lost your spirit?!"

Hikari, who was stood there in fear, tried to rattle her brain for answers to move but just couldn't. She was too scared....

"Snake Whips!'"

In the nick of time, Hebi was able to pull Hikari towards him and out of Joben's way. He led Hikari against the wall and tried to bring her back to reality but it was useless. She was frozen with uncontrollable fear. Her whole body was shaking and her lovely healthy skin began to go pale.

"Sorry Hikari! This is for your own good!"

Hebi began to send a electric shock down her body to reignite her senses. As Hebi did that, Hikari came to and shuck herself out of the fear she was feeling.

"Sorry, Hebi. I've never felt some much ominous Demon Energy before... I have never felt anything like it."

Hikari picked herself up and peeked around the corner to see where Joben was but to her surprised, he was not there. She couldn't feel the pressure from before either. It was like he had disappeared into thin air.

"......Goodnight......."

Joben snuck up behind her and grabbed her by the back of her head. She tried to look over her shoulder to see where Hebi was and noticed that Hebi was knocked unconscious with blood covering his eyes.

"My consciousness......it's fading"

This was the last thought that Hikari had. Tears dripped down her face and she fell unconscious....

Joben succeeded in his plan to stopped them two from advancing onwards or was it all apart of his plan.

"Your suffering is not over yet. I doubt you will survive the nightmare I have set out for you..."

Inside the nightmare....

"Huh? Where am I?"

Hikari's eyes opened and she began to question her surroundings. All she could see was tall mountains surrounding her. It was dark out so her bearings where all over the place. She decided to activate her Light Arrow power to form it into a shape of ball so she can carry it around and light her path.

"Suzuki!.......Hebi!......Everyone!......Where are you?!....."

Hikari endlessly called out their names in hopes of a response but, unluckily, she heard no response. She carried on searching far and wide for her Clan but they were nowhere to be seen.

"What is going on? Guys! Come on! I'm scared!"

As she cried out her plea, the bushes behind her began to rustle. She runs over to it to see if it was anyone but she ended up tripping up over her own feet. She fell flat into the bushes and mud.

That was her fatal mistake...

"Raaaawrrrrrrr!!!"

A shadowy looking creature came bursting out of the bushes and rushed to attack Hikari. She reacted quickly and rolled out of the way. She pulled out her bow and destroyed the creature.

"This forest is creepy!"

Hikari runs away at the speed of sound and hid behind a tree. She could hear that more creatures are coming for her, so she tried to hide her presence and escape further.

"Why? Why? Why? We were trying to save Shinki so why am I here? Master Suzuki!!!"

She was running and crying in fear but it was then when she realised that all of these events remind her of something.

"This....This reminds me of a scary tale my grandfather told me when I was younger. If this is right....then this should work!"

Hikari stops in her tracks and bends down. The pack of wolf like creatures began to pounce but Hikari said the words that would help her in this situation.

"Phew! I need a short break."

After she said that, the wolf creatures stopped attacking her and went on their merry way.

After that, she woke up and realised that she broke free out of the nightmare.

"H-How did you break free?"

"I knew your name sounded familiar. Okuri-Inu is an Escorting Demon dog. They come after you at nighttime when you are waking through Mountain paths. It was a good job that the story popped into my mind before you took full control and killed me."

"Dammit!! Eat this!!!!

Joben's hands grew large and went towards Hikari to clutch her but she was miles ahead of him.

"Light Arrow: Elemental Change: Ice: Ice Wall!"

She sent her shot behind him and protected herself from the attack. She pulled the string on her bow back and prepared her next shot.

"That's not going to stop me!!!!"

"Of course it's not! Light Arrow: Element Change: Ice: Ice Override!"

She uses her Arrow Lock ability and quickly fires off the arrow in front of her. It looped back and fired into Joben.

The ice began to expand and cover him entirely. Then, it expanded wider and wider, resulting in the ice overtaking the hallway.

Ice covered her body and her hair causing her to faint.

"I....I....defeated a monster. Are you proud, brother?"

After uttering them words, Hikari fell unconscious....

Authors Note: I've decided to change the way I do speeches in the story and I think I prefer it this way. So, from now on, I will be using writing all my stories this way. I won't edit my older chapters to be that way though! It will take too long to edit and are fine the way they are lol!
