The wedding had finally arrived. After months of preparation James and Lily’s special day had arrived. There had been a lot of ups and downs during the preparation of this wedding, whether it was acceptable to have such a celebration at such a time, if people could make it safely, how they could keep the celebration secret and after Mary’s death there was the question of even having the celebration.

The marriage was nearly cancelled, which is more than understandable. Thought in the end Lily and James decided to withstand their union, they truly believe that the last thing people need in to sulk in even more sadness and that Mary would have wanted them to raise above her death and allow their marriage to be a moment of peace and joy for those attending.

The official hour of arrival for the guests was at 1pm, but the marauders were already on the scenery. Sirius and I were still setting the tables, the plates, cutlery so on so forth. Peter was surprisingly not here, he must have been ruining late for some reason. Lately Peter often found himself busy, preoccupied or just no existent. We tried not to stress him about it because he already looked ill with stress, but we couldn’t help but notice his absences, maybe the order was to difficult for him to withstand.

It would be understandable, it was a surprise he had even accepted to be apart of the order in the first place, let alone stay fighting with us for over a year. Peter wasn’t a fighter and bravery wasn’t his best quality, we had all told him he didn’t have to follow us if he didn’t want to but he insisted.

I looked over at Remus who was still hanging lights in the trees nearby. Neither Sirius or I were tall enough, so Remus had to take charge of that. The forest in which the wedding was going to take place was filled with decorations and lights, it was beautiful and I couldn’t even begin to imagine how it would look that evening.

The workers Lily and James had hired thankfully took care of most of the work in the preparation of today. Because at the end of the day I loved to help Lily prepare her wedding throughout these last months but now I was just so tired. Between the order, her wedding and meeting my mother I felt like I had not much free time and I was afraid it was starting to affect my personal life and by that I mean Remus. Remus has always been amazing in understanding my struggles and so he’s never complained about the lack of attention I could be giving or per say not giving him.

Though I couldn’t help but feel it start to affect him. It was understandable, the only time we’d spent together in a long time was tea at my mother’s with my little sister. That wasn’t exactly quality time together.

I was hoping that today could change that, yes I was aware it was Lily and James’s wedding and even though I had a lot of responsibility being Lily’s bridesmaid I hoped that it would be an occasion for Remus and I to talk.

“How are those lights coming along honey?” I asked as I passed one hand over his shoulder massaging it, as the other hand gave him a cup of water.

“Fine,” he answered as he grabbed the cup from my hand gulping it all down within a few seconds, “though having my arms constantly up is starting to hurt,”

“Well you can take a break, the lights are all that’s left to do and we still have time, I’ll massage your shoulders if you take a sit,”

He smirked at me as he turned around and lightly kissed my lips, “that would be lovely but we shouldn’t hand around too long we still need to go home and change,”
