WE HAD A PROBLEM. Someone slipped a note to the cops saying Ali is alive and all signs currently point to Paige.
"So wait, you think Paige gave that note to the police?" Aria asked. The girls and I were all sitting at The Brew.
"We don't think. We know. I mean, it was her handwriting and her stationery." Hanna replied.
"Em, have you spoken to her yet?" I asked.
"She's in Maine visiting family."
"You guys, if the police know that Ali is alive, then we're all gonna get dragged in that precinct." Aria muttered. This was already bad to begin with.
"Honestly, I'm a lot more worried about Alison than I am about us." Emily muttered.
"So what are we gonna say when the cops ask whose bones are in Ali's grave?" Hanna asked.
"That we don't know." I replied.
"You guys, if the cops are gonna question anybody, it's gonna be me. I'm the one who Ali's mom saw with that shovel." Spencer said lowly.
"But Ali's alive, Spencer." I replied.
"Yeah and somebody else isn't. And I'm the one who might have bashed a shovel into the skull of a stranger." She paused. "Face it, that's why Ali's mom has been stalking us ever since Mona put on a straitjacket." I rolled my eyes at this one. Mrs. D is not A.
"Okay, let's back up for a second. I get that Mrs. DiLaurentis is really scary, but I'm not buying that she's the devil." Aria explained. Thank you.
"I agree. A knows that Ali's alive. If she knew that why would she waste her energy torturing us instead of bringing her daughter back home?" Emily asked.
"Maybe because she thinks Ali won't be safe until I'm behind bars."
"Mrs. D acts as if Jason and I are already married. I find it hard to believe she'd torture the girlfriend of her son." I added.
"Look, I'm not saying she hasn't had help, okay." Spencer tried.
"I stayed at that house, Spencer." Emily clapped back.
"Yeah, and you were almost kebobed with a knitting needle." Spencer spat.
"Um, that was me." I replied.
"I was there when she got the divorce papers, okay. She's been through hell." Emily responded. Spencer really has a one track mind.
"Yeah, and that may also be the birthplace on her passport." Spencer muttered.
Hanna shook her head and said, "I always knew she was a witch. Fitz is just confirming it."
"Yeah, and we all know how much we can trust him." I said sarcastically and stood up.
