tackling an enemy is never easy.
especially when the enemy is faceless and nameless,
threatening to spill every secret the girls have ever had.
and as you know, secrets never stay hidden in rosewood.

I HATED THIS. A surprise witness is the last thing we needed but here we are, in the courtroom another day, and the prosecutor called in Leslie fucking Stone as a witness.
I didn't even want to show my face today but if I don't they'll think I have something to hide.
When they announced Leslie, the girls and I snapped our heads to each other. This was the last thing we suspected.
"Where has she been all this time?" I muttered. She fell of the face of the earth and then comes to light our asses on fire.
She shared a nasty look with all of us. With that, I was about ready to climb over the benches and sock this bitch in the face.
They started right away.
"So you hadn't seen your friend since the school year began, but you were in constant communication." Mr. Sirk started.
"Mona and I talked on the phone a lot. We grew very close last summer. We texted all the time." Leslie replied.
"And on one occasion, Mona actually sent you a card, correct?" Mr. Sirk said and pulled out a card.
"Yes."
"And in this card, mailed two weeks before Thanksgiving, what did Mona tell you?"
"She was having a hard time, and she had been treated by her." Leslie said and pointed to Alison. I'm fuming.
"And what was the nature of this threat?"
"Ali said if Mona opened her trap about the fake kidnapping that she'd be eaten by worms." Leslie said. I don't believe her.
"Objection. Hearsay." Ali's lawyer spoke up.
"The witness is quoting the victim, your honor. It's all in the card."
"Objection overruled."
I'm sorry, I find it hard to believe Mona would send her a card if they talk on the phone as much as she said she did. Why would she even send a card in this decade anyway? That wasn't Mona's style.
"And why have you decided to share this card with us now, Leslie?"
"I couldn't find it." Convenient. "It came during midterms, and I had stuck it in a textbook. And honestly, I didn't take it seriously enough." Leslie said and she started to cry. Enough of this bullshit.
"Why?"
"Everyone has feuds in high school. I didn't realize what Mona was dealing with until it was too late. And then when I came to see her mom, um...." She trailed off.
"What happened then?"
"I realized something weird was going on. Even though Alison was already locked up, her friends were all on edge about anyone asking any questions, or touching Mona's things. I was practically attacked by Mona's boyfriend for borrowing a book from her room."
