tackling an enemy is never easy.
especially when the enemy is faceless and nameless,
threatening to spill every secret the girls have ever had.
and as you know, secrets never stay hidden in rosewood.

ONE YEAR LATER:
"Jason, did you get Winnie's toy out of the car?" I yelled from across the house. I was up in her room trying to get it situated for her nap.
"I'd like her to take a full nap, so yes." He called back. I just chuckled to myself and continued what I was doing.
I ran downstairs to see Jason already preparing her bottle. I love when he's a few steps ahead of me.
I went to get her out of her playpen. When she saw my coming, she smiled and held up the teddy bear she refuses to remove from her grasp. Her first word was bear. I tried to wash it while she was sleeping one time but she threw a fit when I tried to take it. No one touches bear unless you want to lose a finger.
"I'll take her up." Jason spoke from the kitchen. I'm not complaining. I just sat down on the couch and waited for him to return.
We moved into this house in suburban Philly about 8 months ago since Jason's business with Toby really took off. It makes it easy for me because Veronica's field office is 20 minutes from here.
Jason came back downstairs and sat on the couch.
"Did she give you a hard time?" I asked him. She's notorious for not going down when he does it. I don't know why. Sometimes she just needs her momma.
"Surprisingly, no, but I think that's because she was sleeping in the car for a while." He replied and set his hand on my leg.
I nodded.
"Oh, don't forget Toby and Spence are coming for dinner tonight." Jason added. This was a weekly occurrence. Spencer would play with Winnie, I'd cook, and Jason and Toby would talk about renovations they want to do to their respective houses with no intention of actually doing it.
I peered over to the picture of Winona we had sitting on the fireplace. It was the day she took her first steps. She was smiling so wide.
"Don't you miss when she was that little?" I asked him.
He nodded. "God, yes." He paused. "Do you want another one?"
I pondered for a moment.
"Yeah. I think so."
"Do you want to start now?" He then asked.
I looked at the baby monitor to see her fast asleep.
