Childish? No, you didn't like that word for this. Foolish, though hurtful, worked better. You felt foolish, hoping that when you woke you'd see Sir Stuffington tossed in some corner and Yagi in his place. Either halfway out of the sheets, his back out and towards the ceiling because at some point during the night he'd gotten too warm, or the covers pulled so high that you'd only see little locks of his hair poking out.

It was just your bear, and as you checked your phone your face lit up at the message notification. Your excitement fading when you unlocked the screen and saw it wasn't from who you thought. It was still a welcome contact. Your brother sent you a photo of the grades he was pulling up.

Mom let me have my consoles back.

Fantastic. Keep it up.

You congratulated him and set your phone back on the nightstand, next to your work phone as it started vibrating with a call. "Hello?" You sat up as you answered, swinging your legs over the edge of the bed. "You're up? That's surprising." You heard Nakamura say.

"I'm doing great, thanks for asking." You rolled your eyes hard.

"Right." He cleared his throat. "When can I expect to see you?"

You pulled the phone away from your face, sighing with a palm pressed against your forehead. I asked when I needed to be there what....? You counted mentally. Four-five..six. Six times yesterday. "What time do I need to be there?" You replied finally. "An hour ago."

"Of course." You pushed up and off the bedside. "I'll be there as soon as possible."

You notified Nakamura of your arrival as you approached the towers, already making note in both phones of how early you'd need to get up in order to get to Roppongi from the house in a timely manner. Taking your own advice with a grain of salt, figuring he'd been there sooner than you thought. Either way, the good news was that it'd be a smooth trip the way there with little to no hold ups. The bad news is, it was at the ass crack of dawn.

He was on the way down. You read his reply as it appeared on your screen. "Great." You tapped your shiny new key card against the entrance hearing the doors unlock and grant you clearance, you stepped inside.

It wasn't nostalgia that you were feeling. No, no that couldn't be it. You couldn't be feeling nostalgic for a place that put you through hell for half a year. Can't be that. Couldn't be. The clicking of heels, idle chatter mixed with talks of numbers and projects filled the air. You looked around at the...'business savvy' atmosphere and strode through the lobby. The row of elevators in your line of sight, you made your bee line for their doors. You were wanting to be a little more prepared than you were when you received that call earli-

Bing.

"Ah, there you are." Right on time.

Shadowing went about as well as you expected. You stayed on Nakamura's heels just as you envisioned. Your thumbs flying furiously across the keyboard of your screen as you took notes. Surprised that you'd run out of room with your twenty thousand character limit, you opened a new note, continuing to fill it with 'These go here's and 'Do this when that happens'. A few bullet points underlined when certain meeting rooms were meant clientele of certain status. Pretentious much.

Occasionally, your focus would shift elsewhere. Noticing the familiar faces that passed by with work related thoughts plastered all over their tailored facades. You were almost sure they didn't remember you. Almost. Not like they'd stop to speak. Not like they'd want to actually. And so your attention would redirect to Nakamura.
