Shayla was impatiently tapping her feet on the ground with her hands folded under her chin. Her eyes were fixed on the entry double-door of the gym. Her vexation was increasing every second as there was no sign of Aric. She glanced at her smartwatch which was the same as Aric's and was gifted to her by him last month. Her watch flashed the time 6:27 p.m.

There was no improvement in the weather as the day was wearing off. It was raining heavily with cold air blowing which was a relief in the hot month of July.

Shayla huffed in annoyance as she got up and decided to do some squats when she felt his presence. She turned around swiftly and saw Aric entering the gym with his dark grey t-shirt and black shorts. His shoulders and hair were damp and he looked appealing.

Aric's eyes collided with hers and he smiled while his face twisted in contentment. He wanted to see her and finally, he did.

Shayla eyed him with complete annoyance and made her way to the changing room and Aric quietly followed her like a duckling.

Shayla stood with her back against the wall as Aric closed the door behind him. Shayla folded her arms across her chest with a stern look on her face and her eyes said 'Explain.'

"I know you might be angry-"

"Might?" Shayla asked mockingly.

"Okay okay. I know you are angry," Aric spoke.

"Angry beyond-"

"Angry beyond I can't imagine... I know I know...Let me explain," Aric spoke defensively.

"You better do. Why weren't you picking my calls?" Shayla inquired intently.

"Shayla I didn't know what to say. I decided to talk to Mrs. Vitina first and then brief you about the situation-"

"I know the situation," Shayla spoke frowningly.

"But you don't know Mrs. Vitina. She is sly. She can do anything to maintain the integrity of her reputation," Aric tried to explain to her.

"Les and Res told me that. See, I don't care about Mrs. Vitina or her filthy tactics. What I care about is you, about us. I was so upset after Dane's call and I wanted YOU. I wanted to talk to you because your voice calms me. Even if you don't say anything, your breath and your presence calm me...and you know that," Shayla spoke with what seemed like rage.

Aric sagged his shoulders and spoke, "I'm sorry-"

"Just don't ignore me or my calls again," Shayla interrupted him quickly, clearly not liking the word 'sorry' from Aric's lips.

Aric grinned goofily.

"What?" Shayla asked with a sour tone.

"Deja vu," Aric spoke and grinned.

"Huh?" Shayla asked confusingly.

"This was the exact same thing I told you...In this same gym...when Kalier was here...you remember?" Aric asked.

Shayla's face lit with realization, "Yes I remember."

"Well, am I forgiven?" Aric asked with a hesitant smile.

"I guess," Shayla said while trying to mask her smile with a fake frown.

"Soo...can you give me an 'I-have-forgiven-you' kiss?" Aric asked as he flashed his playful smile.

"Shut up and work out," Shayla spoke monotonously as she advanced towards the door.

"Make out sounds better," Aric spoke as he held her wrist and winked.
