IT WAS A LONG CHAPTER SO I HAD TO DIVIDE IT...AND THE MOST HEARTBREAKING ONE...SO BUCKLE  UP!!!!!!!!!!!

"I never liked that lady...I had a bad feeling about her since the beginning days of Elliema and Aric's dating month. Everyone knows what a vixen she is, still, they are believing her stupid story. How foolish of them!" Mrs. Peppila kept on rambling angrily and Shayla was listening to her with weak concentration when Oliandrin came downstairs.

"Oh, thank god. Aric is acting like a wild boar. Fussing about your safety. I'm gonna call him and tell him you are here," Oliandrin spoke and he didn't sound like usual Oliandrin. He sounded anxious.

"THAT'S PREPOSTEROUS! SCANDALOUS! OUTRAGEOUS! STUPID! PATHETIC!" Mr. Jasial, Aric's father, came fuming inside the house with a bundle of books in his hands after slamming the front door behind him. Shayla's face twisted with astonishment. She never saw Mr. Jasail being angry or sad. He was always in a chirpy and bright mood no matter how grave the conditions were. He was the calmest person when Aric was shot. He was consoling others and betting around that his son would be definitely alright. He was the most optimistic person anyone could ever meet.

Mr. Jasial threw the books on the large sofa and started pacing back and forth. This was more than enough to evince that Mr. Jasial was really angry because he never threw the books like that. He was always very particular about keeping them properly in place and treating them like a living thing.

"How could they? How?" Mr. Jasila muttered. "HOW?" He finally yelled with disgust. "Blaming such a bright and good girl like Shayla. And believing that cunning woman?! That's STUPID! They believe in her poisonous words? HOW?"

One part of Shayla was happy about seeing Aric's parents angry as it meant that they supported her, but the other part of her was feeling ill because it was making her realize that how messy the situation was, and people getting frustrated around her wasn't helping.

"Shayla," Oliandrin spoke timidly which made Shayla's internals vibrate with fear. If Oliandrin was worried it means it was more than bad.

"What is it now?" Shayla spoke irritably and wearily.

"Umm...Your best friends called...because you weren't picking up the calls so your mother called them...and then she talked to Aric...on call," Oliandrin spoke slowly as if he was using his words wisely.

Shayla pressed her eyes with her palms and sighed loudly.

"Errr...they are...they are coming to pick you up," Oliandrin spoke carefully.

Shayla's head jolted up and her eyes widened.

"And...umm..."

"AND WHAT? SAY IT IN ONE GO...WILL YOU?!" Shayla stood up and spoke distressingly.

"They now know about you being shot," Aric spoke from behind and Shayla jumped at his voice and turned around with blood drained from her face.

Shayla ran towards Aric and spoke frantically, "How? Who told them?"

"Nattie spilled it up mistakenly when Mrs. Sukeney called her. Then she called Respina and told her that Mrs. Sukeney wants to talk to me," Aric spoke downheartedly.

Shayla's panic-stricken face now scrunched up in anger and Aric quickly spoke, trying to defend Nattie, "I don't blame Nattie though. Your mother...well..she was in a dangerously thunderous mood."

Shayla closed and opened her eyes again, evidently trying to not scream, and then she spoke slowly, "What my mother said?"

Aric was dubious about sharing his conversation, with Mrs. Sukeney, with Shayla. She was already on the verge of losing her sanity and he was frightened about how Shayla will react after he'll tell her what her mother told her boyfriend.
