Pt 4 Chapter 2 - Celebrations and shenanigans

Y/n's POV

Pepper and Tony broke from their kiss and everyone was still clapping and whooping. Tony hugged Rhodey and then Happy. Nat and I congratulated Pepper and went back to sit with Steve and the others.

"Avengers!" Tony beamed, coming over with arms wide. 

"Congratulations Tone." Steve smiled. 

"Looking good ladies." Tony turned to Nat and I, giving us both greeting kisses on the cheek. 

"No need to be so formal, Stark. We saw you yesterday." Nat laughed. Tony shrugged and turned to Pepper as she came over. The younger man was still standing slightly aside so I decided to go and introduce myself. He looked up as I approached. He had mousey brown hair and a soft face. 

"Hello." I said happily.

"Oh Hi." He replied a little nervously. 

"I'm Y/n! I don't think we've met." I held my hand out to him. 

"Harley." He returned, shaking my hand. 

"I see you're part of the groom's men. How do you know Tony?" I asked, trying to sound as friendly as possible.

"Oh. Tony and I met when I was a kid and he gave me some tech to get a head start on my engineering dreams. He's sort of been my mentor and a second dad to me these past years." 

"Aww that's lovely. He helped me too. Great man." 

"Are you part of the Avengers?" He asked, looking over my shoulder at Steve and Nat. 

"Yeah I am. They're a good bunch. Come on, I'll introduce you. Tony's never mentioned you before." I admitted, feeling a little bad. "Sorry, I feel bad that he hasn't told us about you. You too seem close." 

"Yeah I guess, I don't really mind. He usually comes over for a few days each summer and he helps me perfect my recent work. He's the reason I got into the university I wanted to!" Harley smiled as he began to feel less nervous. Nat turned at the sound of my heels on the path. 

"Harley, meet Steve, Natasha, Bruce and I'm assuming you've met Rhodey." I pointed at my friends in turn. Rhodey had joined the group now and Tony had disappeared with Happy. 

"Nice to meet you Harley." Nat smiled, shaking his hand. 

"You're black widow aren't you?" Harley asked, looking at Nat's face curiously. 

"That I am. Not many people call me that anymore though." She admitted. She wasn't a massive fan of the name because it reminded her so much of the red room as it had been her original code name. 

"Sorry, I didn't realise." Harley panicked slightly. 

"Oh no don't worry kid. It's fine!" She nodded with a big grin. 

"Oh, ok." He replied, looking at me slightly for reassurance. More people that I didn't recognise began to come over and congratulate Pepper. Happy and Tony came back and we all lined up by the sides of the aisle. Tony scooped Pepper up and we cheered as the happy couple passed. They led us inside into the reception building. It was gorgeous, two long tables forming an 'L', covered in pretty flowers. There was a large dance floor and fully stocked bar. 

"Nice!" I said to Nat as we went to find our seat. More people were invited to the reception but it was still only small. All of the Avengers were sitting together on the same table as Tony and Pepper. Nat and I found our seats as everyone broke into their own conversations. 

"That was a gorgeous ceremony." Steve said, glancing down at Pepper and Tony who were laughing loudly. Rhodey was beside Harley and then it was Bruce, Nat, me and Steve. Everyone chatted for a while until the guests were settled. Rhodey then stood and tapped his knife on his glass to draw everyone's attention.
