Y/n's POV
Over the following 48 hours Bruce worked extensively, formulating a plan that he thought might actually work. Nat and Scott helped him whilst Steve and I kept him stocked up on food and coffee. The time finally came to try the first test run. I came in carrying a tray of coffees, followed by Harriet who had a box of cupcakes we had baked for them.
"Okay. Here we go. Time travel test number one." Bruce said. "Scott, fire up." He ordered. We had moved Scott's van into the big room where all the in repair jets were held at the compound. It had lots of space for Bruce to move lots of his lab equipment there too. "Fire up the, er van thing."
Scott moved forward, wearing his ant man suit and opened the back doors of his van. Inside just looked like some sort of weird portal machine. It pulsed and glowed, causing a gasp of excitement from Haz.
"Breakers are set. Emergency generators are on standby." Steve said, he was learning more about all the tech stuff unlike me.
"Good, because if we blow the grid, I don't want to lose uh, Tiny here in the 1950's." Bruce sort of joked.
"Excuse me?" Scott looked up worriedly.
"He's kidding." Nat said in a playful tone. "You can't say things like that." She told Bruce.
"It was a bad joke." He stammered. Scott nodded at him and strode towards the van.
"You were kidding right?" Nat looked up at Bruce, then glancing down at the information on her clipboard.
"I have no idea. We're talking about time travel here. Either it's all a joke or none of it is." Bruce said in a hushed voice. I laughed, handing Nat her coffee. She kissed me on the cheek.
"We're all good!" He gave a big thumbs up to Scott. "Get your helmet on. Scott I'm gonna send you back a week, let you walk around for an hour then bring you back in ten seconds. Make sense?" He told the Ant-man.
"Perfectly not confusing." Scott replied.
"Good luck Scott." I told him.
"You got this." Steve smiled.
"You're right. I do, Captain America." And Scott just disappeared into the glowing van machine. We all watched nervously, Harriet reached up to hold Natasha's hand.
"On the count of three... Three, two, one." Bruce was flicking lots of little switches and then pushed a button when he reached one. Someone came out of the van, however it was not Scott but an adolescent child.
"Uh, guys. This doesn't feel right." He said, sounding scared.
"What is that?" Steve asked, looking at the kid.
"What's going on?" Bruce panicked.
"Who is that?" Nat asked.
"Hold on." Bruce fiddled around with some stuff.
"Is that Scott?" I frowned.
"Yes, it's Scott." The kid said quickly before getting sucked back into the machine. Bruce stood up from where he had been fiddling to look at what was happening.
"What's going on Bruce?" Steve snapped. Another person came back, this time an elderly man.
"Oh, my back." He groaned.
"What is this?" Nat looked up at the green man.
"Hold on a second." He snapped back. "Can I get a little space here?" He asked Cap.
"Yeah , yeah, yeah. Can you bring him back?" Steve rushed to move.
"I'm working on it." Bruce told him. Bruce pressed some buttons and the machine began beeping. He hit it a few times, like when you try and get a tv remote to work again. The elderly man vanished and came back as a toddler.
