Y/n's POV

The moon had set beyond the horizon and the city had fallen quiet by the time we had settled the baby in her crib. We had realised it would be much better if she were in our room so Steve and Nat moved the crib over at around 11pm. The others had gone to bed, leaving us time to learn to parent. Harriet had had another bottle and Natasha had accomplished her first successful nappy change. She was actually quite good at it, although she did have to remind me of her past experiences. "I did baby sit Lila and Cooper a few times, I've got it under control."

It was now almost 1am, we had finally been able to drift off to sleep before the distressing sound of crying rang through the room. Natasha jumped out of bed and straight to Harriet's side. She picked her up out of the crib and held her in her arms. There was now a milk making station on our vanity where my nail polish had once been. Natasha rested the baby in one arm and started to make a small bottle.

"Let me help." I yawned.

"No, no. Sleep Darling." She whispered, rocking the baby. I put my head back on the pillow, watching as Natasha began to hum a small and sweet tune to the infant. Harriet slowly began to sooth and her cries all stopped.

"See, you're okay." Natasha smiled, shaking the bottle. She tested it's temperature on the back of her hand and decided it was acceptable. As the baby drank she continued her soft humming, swaying on the spot as fed her daughter. I smiled, watching the precious scene in the low light of our bedroom. Haz quietened down and was placed back in her crib. Natasha clambered back into bed beside me and snuggled in close. I kissed her forehead and she got comfortable.

"Thank you." I whispered.

"It's your turn next." She smirked, rolling over so her back was to me. My arm fell over her waist as we dozed off. We were woken up another five times until we gave up on sleep around 5.30. The light outside was still dim and the grounds were quiet. The last few agents had moved out and there was no more SHIELD activity at the compound. They had moved to other jobs and agencies, now that Hill and Fury were gone there was little reason for them to stay. Some had suggested that Natasha take it over, saying the Fury would have wanted her to. But with each suggestion and request came a 'no' from Nat. She would have once taken over and led, however now I believed she wanted a simpler life. I would have loved to take her away, take her to a quiet cottage in the country. A small quaint home where we could raise our daughter and to grow old in. However I also knew her far too well, she would never leave Steve or even Bruce and Rhodey. She knew that they would need her, need us. With people gone and the world still rather messy, our dysfunctional family was all they had; they had lost too much and we knew they couldn't deal with losing more of us.

By 8am the team was slowly starting to wake up and join us in the main room. By the look of their faces Nat and I looked rough.

"Had a busy night?" Rhodey chuckled.

"You look tired." Nebula said quietly. For the most part she was still learning to trust us and often said very little. But over the past few weeks she was gaining confidence and talking more.

"Yes it was a long night." I chuckled, realising the bags under my fiance's eyes.

"She was good though, typical baby behaviour isn't it." Nat smiled, handing me Harriet. Rhodey made himself and Natasha a bowl of cereal, Steve started on some eggs and Bruce was on toast duty. I wandered over to the counter to make Harriet her morning bottle. She was gorgeous and much more lively today. I set her down in her carry seat that we were keeping in the living area.

"Good morning trouble." Steve bent down to stroke her cheek. Her tiny fingers wrapped around him and she held on tight. "You're more awake today aren't you." He looked like an excited puppy as he watched the small baby. I let him feed her her bottle as Nat tucked into her own breakfast.

"She didn't wake any of you up did she?" Natasha yawned.

"Not me, though I do sleep well." Rocket said casually.

"Yeah, our rooms are further up the corridor so we didn't hear anything." Rhodey nodded.

"That's good then." I smiled.

Once breakfast was done Rocket and Nebula packed their bags, they were returning to space. Carol had already gone but would be coming back in a week or two. Steve and Bruce went shopping and Rhodey headed down to the pool in order to train, he was still strengthening his legs after the accident. Slowly but surely he was getting back to normal. That left Nat and I a bit of peace.

I put on a film on the TV and we curled up under a blanket. Nat had Haz in her arms and we began to watch the newest film on Netflix. It was quite interesting but also quite relaxed. The lack of sleep I had had began to set in as I felt my eyes get heavy. The first half an hour of the film passed by, Rhodey returned to his room to shower and the others were still not back. I looked across at Natasha and to my surprise she had fallen asleep beside me. She was only wearing a low cut tank top and Harriet was asleep on her chest. I watched them, a smile growing on my face. They looked peaceful and rather adorable. Their hair was almost the same colour and it made me love the infant even more. She had barely been in our lives for a whole 24 hours yet I had whole heartedly fallen in love with her. My daughter, my sweetheart. I paused the tv and rested my head on the arm of the sofa. Slowly I too drifted off to sleep and napped until the boys returned home.

The sound of the fridge accidentally slamming woke Harriet and the room echoed with her cries.

"Shit sorry!" Rhodey called as he looked at us with a guilty smile.

"Language!" Nat and Steve said at the same time.

"I see you're copying my style Romanoff." Steve tilted his head curiously.

"I guess I am, but it's best we cut down on swearing now that there's a child we have to set a good example for."

"She's a baby, she won't notice." Bruce said quietly.

"Yes but potty mouths like Y/n and I need to practise." Nat looked at me with a cheeky smile.

"I thought you were just going to say me, I was about to prove you wrong there." I chuckled.

"No, no. I know my mouth isn't the cleanest." Nat nodded.

"No it's not." I smirked. She raised an eyebrow at me, interpreting my words slightly wrong. The rest of the afternoon was quiet and relaxed as the team just watched tv and chatted. We got takeaway pizza for tea and played a big game of monopoly around the dining table.
