Y/n's POV

There was a beep, Nat swiped in the air to answer the message. A projection of the front door camera appeared.

"Oh, hi, hi!" A man that I recognised was yelling up at the camera. "Is anyone home? This is, uh, Scott Lang. We met a few years ago at the airport in Germany?"

Nat moved forwards to look closely at the video. Steve had a similar thought as he rose from the chair. I frowned in confusion, he hadn't been heard from in five years. He was presumed to be dusted during the blip, leaving his daughter Cassie behind.

"I was the guy that got really big. I had a mask on. You wouldn't recognise me." Scott yelled.

"Is this an old message?" Steve asked, Scott hadn't aged a day..

"Ant-man? I know you know that." Scott continued frantically.

"It's the front gate." I grinned and Nat got up from her chair. She reached out for my hand excitedly as she stared at the screen.

"I really need to talk to you guys." Scott went on.

"Let's get him in!" Natasha said hopefully, finally getting hold of my hand. She turned to look at me, her eyes bright and her face spread with a small smile. We all marched down to the front gate to let Scott in.

He looked incredibly shocked to see the three of us there when the gates swung open. He put his hands on his head.

"Oh thank gosh."

"Come in! Come in!" Nat waved her hand, ushering the manic man inside. We led him up to the living room. He seemed rather confused and almost nervous as we walked. We got upstairs and watched as he began to pace. Rubbing his face with his hands and sighing. "Scott." Steve frowned.

"Yeah.... Have any of you guys ever studied quantum physics?" He asked hurriedly.

"Only to make conversation." Nat admitted. She had put on my hoodie as we hurried out to fetch our guest and now had her hands in the pockets.

"All right, so... five years ago. Right before-" He waved his hand around. "Thanos." He said reluctantly. "I was in a place called the quantum realm. The quantum realm is like it's own microscopic universe. To get in there you have to be incredibly small. Hope. She's my um... " He stuttered awkwardly.

"She was my... She was supposed to pull me out. And then Thanos happened and I got stuck in there." He rushed over his words, eager to explain.

"I'm sorry." Nat sighed.

"That must have been a very long five years." Steve frowned.

"You seem rather sane for a man who spent five-" I began, imagining how lonely it might have felt.

"Yeah but that's just it. It wasn't. For me, it was five hours. See, the rules of the quantum realm aren't like they are up here. Everything is unpredictable. Is that anybody's sandwich? I'm starving." He interpreted and started to explain before he hurriedly went to Nat's peanut butter sandwich.

"Scott. What are you talking about?" Steve asked, visibly confused.

"So..." Scott started, his mouth full of food. "What I'm saying is. Time works differently in the quantum realm. The only problem is right now we don't have a way to navigate it. But what if we did? I can't stop thinking about it." He began to pace and his words got faster. Steve looked back at me and Natasha with a concerned look. Perhaps I had spoken too soon, he did sound slightly mad.

"What if we could somehow control the chaos and we could navigate it?! What if there was a way that we could enter the quantum realm at a certain point in time but then exit the quantum realm at another point in time... like-" He paused for a moment, looking at our worried expressions. "Like before Thanos." He finished.
