Y/n's POV

I followed Wanda to the town center but instead of joining her to fight by her side I did as I was told. I sat on the rooftop of one of the apartment buildings and simply observed from a safe distance. That way I would be there if she needed me but far enough away that she wouldn't forcefully remove me from her fake reality because I was interfering.

Wanda was hit in the back by Agatha's magic and knocked to the floor. I flinched and wanted to go to her side but stayed rooted on the rooftop.

"Wanda! Did you know there's an entire chapter devoted to you in the darkhold." Agatha summoned an ancient looking book that pulsed with dark magic. It opened as she continued her speech. "The Scarlet witch is not born, she is forged. She has no coven, no need for incantation. It's your destiny to destroy the world.

Wanda looked up at Agatha as an incantation left her lips. A blonde to Wanda's left began to talk. I couldn't hear the words she was saying, just the panic in her voice that quickly spread to Wanda's face. My friend looked back up at the woman causing her to suffer. "What are you doing to her? You're making her say this!" Wanda called.

The blonde spoke to Wanda in a more desperate and agitated tone. Agatha waved her fingers once again and cast more magic across the civilians. Looks of confusion and then anger spread over their faces and they headed for Wanda. The people erupted in anger and upset as they spoke to her. I watched the fear come over Wanda's face as they began to overwhelm her. Wanda tried to calm the people but as their voices grew louder tears came to her eyes. I saw just before it happened that it had gotten too much.

Wanda screamed and her hands came to block her ears. Red power exploded from her hands and attached itself to the necks of the people. They all let out cries of pain as her magic began to strangle them and hush their complaints.

Wanda realised instantly what she had done and undid the mistake. "Stop, stop I'm sorry." I heard her say.

My fingers were dug into the brick on the edge of the room where I was still sitting. It took everything in me to fight the urge to pull her into a hug and tell her it would all be okay. But I also knew that this whole mess would be something she needed to fix on her own for now. She couldn't control their fear, not anymore. She could only control her own.

Her magic released the people and gasps for air were heard all round. "I will let you go." Wanda nodded and tears fell down her face. My heart ached as I felt her pain.

"What's stopping you?! Heroes don't tourture people!" Agatha jeered. Within an instant Wanda threw her hands up and red flooded towards her. A beam of red power shot to the sky and pierced through the barrier surrounding the town. She was taking it down.

Her cries and struggled filled my ears as a small crack appeared where her magic was hitting.

"Go! All of you! Go! Now!" She shouted at the trembling people around her. The people she had kept trapped. The barrier glowed red and began to pull apart at the seams. People fled in a mass of screams. The towns around me began to glitch, switching between time periods and causing my face to spread with confusion. During the chaos somehow Vision had found his was to the square.

I saw him for the first time with fear on his face. He was falling apart, piece by piece as the fake reality fell. Wanda saw him struggle to his feet and I knew this would be where she needed me. I slowly flew down towards her but paused at the sound of Agatha's voice and childrens cried and Visions struggle.

"Save Westview or save your family?"

The two boys sped to their mother's side and I realised that they too were falling apart. They were part of the illusion, the dream that Wanda was living in. If she tore down her fake reality then she would lose her children and her husband and her home.
