Stefani's POV

"We're leaving," I plainly said and started packing up.

"We just got back," Rachel whined and Veronica was excited.

"Lana just emailed me back confirming my pitch is very well something that can be profitable in the long run. Time is money," I was on the verge of retorting.

"I can switch my classes to online, we're still within the drop deadline. I can show you how to do it for your chem classes- hopefully before we leave," Veronica chirped.

"Beautiful," I asserted a confident smile and she leans over to kiss my cheek.

"Y'all are doing a great job at this fake girlfriend thing," Rachel teased and I rolled my eyes.

"Oh yes, and I plan on taking advantage of every perk I have before the clock strike tweleve," Veronica's fingers lace the back of my neck and her cold fingertips sent a chill down my spine.

"Doesn't leaving Massachusetts now defeat the sole purpose of timing of the essence?" Rachel tries to share her point.

"That's if the press finds out I'm back in town. Which- I won't let them know. If you want, feel free to stay here," I gestured to the empty dorm that had nothing but packed luggage..

"Okay, but how are you going to discreetly come back to New York? Not to mention the fucking car you made headlines with over your egotistical bid," Rachel made a fair point.

"I'll sell it here and use the money to cover our traveling expenses and whatever's left, I'll buy a different vehicle," I plainly said.

Veronica's eyes blinked into oblivion..

"You won an expensive bid- I- ignore me," she decided to keep quiet.

"Did you at least have a car in mind before we just leave Massachusetts?" Rachel started scrolling on her phone showing me cars that might suit me.

Driving a plain white Lamborghini draws just as much attention.. "I need something subtle."

And I need to stop throwing my money around like a spoiled rich kid... I am one, but I can't even bring myself up to an explanation on why I let my ego get the best of me over the car I drive now.

"Stefani?" Veronica puts up a nervous finger.

"What is it darling?" I smirked at her.

"How the hell is your net worth more than the overall United States?" She showed me her Google search of me and I indulged on the question.

"Because, I'm not some nimble minded western investor. I trade stocks on an international scale and invest with technology outside the US. Chinese stocks are damn near free when they start out fresh in the world of business. But they've shown more promise that their growth rate and value is by far incomparable with American enterprises as the US economy runs their manufacturing relying on foreign goods. I invested into Chinese stocks when I first turned eighteen and set up my own accounts; that's how I was able to quickly build my YouTube channel at the time... I'm no longer interested in social media. Expanding Edwards Enterprises on an international market should've been the next step while my dad is CEO... the man is too focused on what's in between his assistant's legs than the opportunities outside of our brand." I became slightly heated at how true I am fit to take his position.

"Speaking of that assistant, Meddling with Mary might be a favorable side quest," I indulged on ruining this woman's life but that was cut short with my reality crisis.

I didn't want this.

And here I am striving for it hoping that it will give me all that I need to live the life I've wanted.
