Lillian's pov

"Well, she's something," my mom fixed me a cup of coffee.

"N-no cream and light sugar... please," I pointed out and she looked at me carefully.

"Tell me the truth, what happened?" I sighed and massaged the temples of my head trying to cope with what's already happening. I can't believe her and Gwen started that far off the wrong foot.

"Something among the lines of hating family drama but she claimed to have found the humor behind that statement because she doesn't consider herself family... her vision bears so much- weight," she finished stirring up my cup and gently slides it across the kitchen counter for me to sip.

"I'm so sorry," I shook my head in irritation.

What is her deal?

"That tiny ass species of a man is a real piece of work. And his daughter? Pfft," my dad scoffed in amazement at Stefani and kent.

"Honey, not so hard on the daughter," my mom slapped his shoulder.

"Remember, the child is a reflection of the parent. She seems rather Conflicted," she reasoned and handed my dad a cup of coffee.

Well obviously. Kent hasn't been a parent- at all and the only credible parent in Stefani's life is no longer living.

"Yeah- well, Kent's gone through god knows how many stepmoms since her biological mother left. I happened to be the one that actually showed an interest with his daughter," I sighed.

"He has the slightest clue on what a man is let alone a father," my dad laughed.

"He means well. Trying to provide a motherly figure for her," I fiddled with my spoon in my coffee cup.

"Heh, all them washed up whores. Yeah, he means well alright," my dad chuckled at the fucked up humor.

"Don't talk about my husband like that," I warned and both my parents paused hesitantly.

"Don't tell me y'all are already married- rude, I wasn't even maid of honor let alone mom," my sister walks in and grabs my coffee.

"Never had coffee like this but damn. Bold, sweet? Who's coffee order did you copy?" She teased and I rolled my eyes.

"THE HELL IS YOUR PROBLEM?!" I recognize Stefani's voice upstairs and I sigh.

"Wow... they're settling in quite nicely aren't they?" My sister Cheryl chuckled and my dad cracked a grin.

My mom pinched their ears and hummed to herself preparing Cheryl her cup of coffee.

"Dad, who's gonna last longer? Rich girl or our sweet middle class darling, Gwen?" Cheryl blew on the brim of her mug.

"I'd say rich girl. Gwen's feisty but she's a doll regardless of her head being thick as bones. She don't have the look in her eye the way Kent's kid does. She's been through some serious shit- ah!" He yelped as my mother pinched a small portion of his tricep.

"YOU GO GYM?!" I recognized my nephew's voice getting excited- amazing how deep it's gotten.

"He's so strong and healthy," my mom smiled to herself as she sipped on her tea.

"Sheesh, apparently he's striving for a PR now? Is that like- I don't know what it means-

"PR in gym terms is a deviated for 'personal record.' It's like hitting a mark you've never hit before," Stefani enters the kitchen with her gym bag.

"Gym bro's right," chase closed the cap on his protein shaker bottle and he holds out his hand taking Stefani's empty shaker bottle.

The fact she's getting along with anyone under this roof is mind boggling..
