"Who is it from?" Macaque watched the arrow vanish while Monkey King read the remainder of the letter in his head.
"Lady bone demon." He growled out.
Macaque flinched a bit at the title but folded his arms.
"And she wants you to be her little errand boy?" He chuckled. "Sucks to be you, Wukong."
"That's 'boys'-" Monkey King corrected offering the letter. "She expects the same from you."
Macaque skimmed the letter.
"Y/n will be my guest until I receive these two items. Either both of you, bring them to me or watch her die. The choice is yours."
Macaque gritted his teeth as he realized the two items were both his lantern and a mirror from Monkey King's horde.
"I don't see a time limit." Macaque noted crumbling the letter in his palms.
"When it comes to her I would expect she means now." Monkey King folded his arms. "But why?"
Macaque rolled his eyes.
"Typical hero maneuver to ask pointless questions. It doesn't matter."
Monkey King cocked an eyebrow at him.
"And if she's just using us? She could kill Y/n for some type of ritual. We would be giving her exactly what she needs."
Macaque sighed.
"Then what do you suggest?"
Monkey King put a hand to his chin. Slowly, his lips curled into a grin.
"I have a plan, but you're not going to enjoy it."
You awoke in a cage made of bones with a man in a fine suit grinning down at you.
"Well that's not at all creepy." You muttered frowning at him.
"Good morning!" He cheered over enthusiastically leaning a touch too close.
On instinct you attempted to punch him. He simply caught your fist his grin growing.
"Be careful." A quiet voice warned.
You glanced to your left to see a young girl in a white dress. She wore a secretive smile.
"He is excitable."
You stared at her as he released you. She didn't seem like much of a threat, but then, she had caught you without much hassle.
"Who are you? And why am I here?"
She giggled quietly.
"Oh, don't you recognize me?"
Slowly, you shook your head.
"Don't worry. You will soon enough." She turned from you and walked towards a door. "Our destinies are intertwined."
With that, the door shut and the man vanished into a blue plume of smoke.
You huffed and fiddled with the lock on the cage. You weren't about to simply wait for her to return.
Meanwhile.
Macaque glowered at Monkey King as he offered Macaque the mirror.
"You are an idiot. She will notice if you aren't there. If you're so powerful just fight her."
"Ah, that's something you never did learn." Monkey King corrected holding up a finger. "If you can avoid fighting an enemy, it's wise to do so."
"I think you mean weak." Macaque shot back with a malicious grin.
Monkey King growled but sucked in a breath to calm himself.
"Besides I am going to have a clone with you. She'll never see it coming."
"Right." Macaque agreed doubtfully.
The two made their way to the lady bone demon's fortress and Monkey King shifted into a fly while Macaque walked with his double to the doors and knocked.
The lady bone demon's henchmen opened the door.
"Yeeees? Oh hello." He greeted. Macaque flinched back and the clone gave him an odd look.
"We came to get y/n." The clone said folding his arms.
The real monkey King flew through the open door. He flew through the lair and saw y/n in a bone cage attempting to snap the bars.
He couldn't help but smile and land on the floor of your cage.
"Psst, y/n."
You jumped then looked around frantically, hearing your name.
"Down here." Came a voice that sounded exactly like Monkey King.
You dropped your gaze in time to see Monkey King change from a fly into his old self. But he was small and threw you a smile.
"Don't worry, I'm going to get you o-"
"ARRRGHAAAAA!" You heard Macaque yell from the next room. He sounded as though he was in pain and you grew frantic.
"Sun, hurry!"
Sun changed back to normal size and slammed a fist into the bars. They snapped instantly and Monkey King pulled you from the cage.
You rushed towards the doors where you had heard Macaque's yell.
Monkey King followed you quickly and when you both entered the room even he gasped in horror.
Macaque was trapped in an odd white stone substance. But what had horrified you was that it covered his ears. His eyes looked hollow and distant.
"Macaque!" You cried rushing over to him. He didn't respond but flinched as you raced over.
Monkey King stood Infront of you two while you broke the white substance around Macaque.
"You shouldn't have attempted to fool me." The woman spoke her eyes turning blue.
Monkey King growled a bit and looked at Macaque over his shoulder.
"Get y/n out of here!"
"No! Su-"
Macaque grabbed your arm and pulled you into the shadows. You yelped as you two ended up at his dojo.
"What are you doing we can't just leave him th-"
Macaque held up a hand.
"Y/n you're speaking too fast. I can't read your lips."
You paused.
"So you can't hear me?"
Macaque shook his head.
"I can sort of read your lips but I can't hear anything."
Gently you hugged him.
Just then Monkey King came in through a hole in the wall.
"Monkey King!" You cheered.
"Hey, peaches." He chuckled as you nearly tackled him in a hug.
Monkey King explained that the lantern and mirror were gone, that he knew a way to heal Macaque but he would need your help.
