TAYLOR

TAYLOR ENJOYED SLEEPING,
maybe even a little too much.

You'd think that when flesh—eating dead are around every corner, you'd be scared to close your eyes for even a second.

But no, the end of the world caused the young mother to enjoy the activity even more.

It was a way for her to escape all the shit the apocalypse brought, and get a break from parenting.

She loved Hailey and Elaina with all her heart, but the two sisters could be a hassle...

Daryl did his best, though, and she was impressed how well he could change Elaina's diapers.

He was good at the cleaning part, but when it came to the actual part of putting on the fresh diaper...he always seemed to put it on backwards...

He always seemed to overheat Elaina's baby milk a lot, and spill it, forcing Taylor to breastfeed the infant.

He wasn't a very good bath giver either, which is most likely because he doesn't have much experience cleaning himself.

The one thing he was good at was getting Elaina down for her naps, as soon as Elaina rested her head in his arms, she'd instantly fall asleep, and it warmed the young widows heart.

Daryl also did his best with raising Hailey, which basically just consisted of the redneck telling his granddaughter no boys and how to hunt.

He did his best to help her with her homework too, but he didn't really understand the concepts.

The young widow often wondered how she got so lucky with him...

With a groan, the sound of Elaina's cries rang out through the Dixon household.

Knowing her chances of falling back asleep were slim, Taylor rolled out of bed and trudged her way to Elaina's bedroom.

Pushing open the door, the young mother saw Lydia standing at Elaina's crib, rocking the infant back and forth as her cries slowly died away, "There there, it's alright. Everything's okay, sweetie, I promise.".

Leaning against the doorframe, the young widow smiled at the scene before saying in a hushed whisper, "How'd you do that?".
