TAYLOR

     EARLY THE NEXT MORNING,
Taylor and Daryl retreated to their tent for the day, as from strict orders from Hershel, they were instructed not to do any strenuous activities for the day, rather rest up and continue the search the following day.

So here she sat beside Daryl in their tent, reading her book as she attempted to fight off boredom.

God, she really did miss videogames...

"Thell hell you wearin'?" He asked, gesturing to her polo top and jeans.

This was the outfit Beth had given her the other day as a fresh pair of clothes after her shower.

She didn't really like the outfit, as it wasn't her particular style, but she wore it anyway to show that she appreciated what Beth did for her.

She was fragile, and unknowledged about the new world, and quite frankly, Taylor envied her for that.

"They're Beth's," She replied, "She gave them to me.".

"They look fuckin' stupid on ye." He commented, poking one of his arrows through the netting on the side of their tent.

"Well what do you expect me to do? Walk around butt-ass naked? My clothes were ruined yesterday, and all my other ones are still being washed." She countered.

He scoffed, "Forget I said anythin'. Fuckin' teens...".

She rolled her eyes, returning back to her book.

Daryl could really get on her nerves sometimes...

That's when Andrea stepped inside, a book in her hand and her satchel in the other, "Hey. This is not that great, but...".

She sat down beside Taylor, handing the book to Daryl as he flipped through it.

Taylor looked over the cover and read the title, seeing 'The Case Of The Missing Man'.

"What, no pictures?" He remarked, looking over at Andrea.

"I'm so sorry. I feel like shit." She apologized in response.

"Yeah, you an' me both." He replied, adjusting his pillow before setting the book down beside him.

Taylor was beginning to feel like she wasn't apart of this conversation...

"I don't expect you to forgive me, but if there's anything I can do..." Andrea said.

"You were tryin' te protect the group. We're good." He reassured her.

She smiled, but her face fell as she watched Taylor walk out of the tent without a word.

Yesterday was eating up at her...she didn't help an ounce at tracking down Sophia.

For once, she just wanted to be useful, to help the group out and help them survive this whole mess...

"What's wrong, sweatpea?" She heard a man ask from a distance away, turning over to the campfire by the tents and seeing a man kneel down to a weeping girl sitting in one of the camping chairs.

"M-My...my walkie-talkie broke, Lee. I know I have to be strong, but it's how I talked with my parents, and now they're gone; it's gone." She cried.

Taylor frowned at the scene as Lee comforted her, "Don't worry, Clem. I'm sure we can fix it.".

Oh, so those were two of the people that saved Taylor and Daryl the other day.

Taking it as an opportunity to help out, Taylor walked up to them, "Could I take a look? I might be able to fix it.".

Sniffing, Clementine nodded, handing her walkie-talkie to Taylor, "Here you go.".

Taylor looked over it, not seeing any significant damage, so she flipped it to the back and flipped open the battery compartment, "Oh. I think the batteries might be dead.".

"Can you fix it?" Clementine asked.

Taylor nodded with a bright smile, "Yep. I just need to run into town and find some batteries.".

"Really!? That's amazing, thank you, Taylor. Just...be careful with it, promise? Walkies break easily." The young girl told the older one.

The young teen slipped Clementine's walkie talkie into the belt loop of her jeans, "I promise.".

Lee smiled, "Thanks, Taylor. Me and Clementine both really appreciate it.".

"Don't mention it. Daryl's out for a sick day, so I need something to do. Besides, a little exercise couldn't hurt." Taylor replied.

She waved goodbye to the two, making her way over to Merle and Daryl's blue pickup truck parked next to the other cars and she hopped in the driver's seat, rummaging around for the keys, "Shit...where the hell do they keep the keys?".

She lucked out, finding the key tucked away in one of the visors, the key grasped in her hand as she looked around on where to put it, "How the fuck do you start up a car?".

The young teen had no clue on how to drive to car besides a few things there and there she picked up from her mother and father.

How the hell was she gonna drive a full on pickup truck all the way to a town and back?
