Chapter 5: Meeting Cindy Jennings(Herrmann) and 24 Hours

POV: Cindy Jennings(Herrmann)

Today is the first day that Im meeting Kelly Benjamin-Christopher Severide-Herrmann, my boyfriend of three years, adopted son. I am kind of nervous because Kelly has a lot of Medical problems and I dont know what they are. Christopher did say he has a notebook of all the things Kelly is allergic to and the best ways to help with his Anxiety, Autism, Asthma, Allergies and his Migraines. So I guess I dont have to be so nervous, but I really want Kelly to like me.

Hey Christopher. I said, as I saw him and 9-year-old Kelly behind him.

Hey Cindy, this Kelly. Kelly this Cynthia, but she goes by Cindy. said Christopher

Why cant I stay with Uncle Taylor? asked Kelly

Baby, him and the rest have a shift. So do Uncle Mouch and me. Dont worry Cindy is really sweet. If you ask nicely, maybe she will let you stay up later. said Christopher

Kelly, I have a fun day planned for today and tomorrow. I said

What kind of fun? asked Kelly

You have to let Christopher go and get to work to find out. I said

Okay, Bye Papa Chris, I love you and will I see you tomorrow. Also tell Uncle Mouch I love him too. Go Christopher, I got everything. said Kelly as he hugged Christopher and walked in.

If you need anything you have mine and Mouchs numbers. said Christopher

Yes, now go before you are late for your shift. I said as I kissed him

Okay I love you. Sevy I love you. said Christopher

I love you too Chris now go. said Kelly

Once Christopher leaves I find Kelly at my table eating some fruit.

Kelly, so here is my plan. We can start with whatever you want. I was thinking we should go to a cute flower garden, go on a hike, get some lunch or just watch movies all day. I said

Can we go to the flower garden? asked Kelly

Of course, lets get your coat back on and we can go. I said

Oh no. said Kelly

What happened? I asked

Papa Chris has my coat. said Kelly

Why dont we go get it? I asked

Okay Cynthia. said Kelly

Kelly, you can call me Cindy if you want. I said

I know, I just think your full name is so cool. said Kelly

Well Kelly Benjamin-Christopher Severide-Herrmann is a cool name too. I said

I can wrap my blanket around me until we get to 51. said Kelly

Okay lets do that. Do you have a car seat? I said/asked

Papa Chris said he put it by your car. said Kelly

Once we got out to my car I saw his car seat and put it in. I dont get it so Kelly comes and helps me put it in. Once it is in the car he gets in and gets buckled. I then drive to the Firehouse. Once I got there Kelly was asleep, I didn't want to leave him so I picked him up with his blanket over him and walked into the Firehouse. Once I got there I saw some people at a table and I went to them. I then asked if they knew where I could find Christopher.

Hi, do you know I can find Christopher Herrmann? I asked

Hey Cindy, did Herrmann forget something? asked Mouch as he kissed Kellys head.
