Chapter 16: The Surgery(Flashback)

POV: Matt Casey

Once Kelly ran off I went after him once I yelled at Danny Reagan. I get to Kellys room and see the worst thing. Kelly is on the ground crying, I walked up to him and tapped his shoulder.

Sev, its me Case. I said

Babe, it really hurts. said Kelly

Babe, why dont we call Boden and tell him that you are getting the surgery tomorrow. I said

Can we Babe, it really fucking hurts. I tripped on something and I landed on it. said Kelly

Of course Babe. You know I love you right, and one day we can go on a real date. I said as I pulled up Bodens number on my phone and once he answered I put on the speaker phone.

Yes Casey? asked Boden

Im with Severide, he needs to talk to you. I said

Okay Severide Im all ears. said Boden

Im going to get the surgery tomorrow. I tripped on something and I made it hurt more. said Kelly, as he held back the tears not letting Boden know he was crying.

Okay, do you have someone to take you to it? asked Boden

A friend of mine is in town. I will get him to do it. said Kelly, as he lay his head on my lap.

Okay tell me how it goes. said Boden as he hung up and Christopher came in.

Hey Baby, how are you doing? asked Christopher

I need to call my doctor. To tell him I want the surgery. said Kelly as Christopher ran his fingers through Kellys hair and then kissed Kellys head.

Do you want me to do it, Baby? asked Christopher

No Papa Chris, but can you, Matt and Danny stay with me while I do it. said Kelly

Sure Baby, let me go get Danny. said Christopher

Case, you know I love you too right. I'm still working on it. said Kelly as he gave me a quick on my lips as Christopher and Danny came into Kellys room. Kelly got out his phone and called the doctor. He picked up on the first ring and we all went quiet but Kelly.

Yes this Kelly Severide-Herrmann, I came in for an MRI and was told I need surgery. said Kelly

Yes, Im busy tomorrow and the next day but I can do the day after that. said the doctor

That would work, I guess. I was just wondering if I could get it. Matt, can you take over? It really hurts right now. said Kelly as he gave me his phone and went to lay on Christophers lap.

So a friend of his made a comment about our friend who is in a coma. He has been there for a month. It is still hard on us, because we worked together. Anyways when he made that comment Kelly ran up to his room and tripped over something and he landed on his shoulder. He said that it really hurts. I said

Im sorry, the best I can do is give him a some medicine. said the doctor

Okay thank you, what time do you have? I asked

I have a 12:00pm and that is it. said the doctor

Give me a second to see if that works. I said

What time? asked Christopher

12:00pm. I said

We have a shift that day and Im not going to be able to get him through it. said Christopher

Papa Hell, I can go for you and Man-Couch. Mamma Hell may come so we will keep you updated on Kell Hell. said Danny as he looked at Christopher and he gave me a nod.
