It is left open ended so you all can decide yourself if you made it or not.

Coach:

He asked Virgil to find you before they got off the boat and left. He had more people to think of as he had taken on a kind of leader roll. It's cruel but better save three people than one, no matter how much that breaks his heart, but it's logic over feelings during times like these.

Each step was filled with guilt and feeling so wrong. As he fought the zombies on the bridge he felt as if he should run back to get you but he doesn't even know where you are. And so he ran to the helicopter. As he boarded he was quick to go to the pilot; asking if he rescued you, with a very specific description of how you last looked. But the pilot shook his head while yelling for them to sit down as he took off. As they flew he just held his head in his hands; half happy he made it but the other half feeling he should have jumped back out and go get you.

Each day at the new safe place he asked around for you, searched you between the survivors, asked those who left to go find survivors if they can search for you. He managed to join the team that kept going to rescue, and so he began searching himself for you.

Rochelle:

She cried a lot, shouting your name without a care if zombies came. It was Coach he helped her get through it, and so when they saw the helicopter that was gonna take them to safety and away from this whole place she felt very conflicted: but she went with Coach as he was the one still here and she had now grown an attachment to have someone to lean on for comfort and support. As she stepped on the helicopter she suddenly wanted to get off though, but Coach took her arm and pulled her in, forcing her on one of the seats while shouting the zombies will kill her if she gets out again.

At the safe place she simply went into her own world. One day she tells herself you are alive, the other she tells herself you died a quick dead. So to keep herself busy she began interviewing people; writing all of them down. Still she asked each person if they have seen someone like you. When one said yes everything froze for her then she bombarded the person with questions, even grasping their arms. Sadly they told her you came then went so they don't know. Rochelle just stared at them then nod, whispering a sorry as she let go and wandered away: just wandering around with no destination to go to.

Ellis:

The second you were seperated he tried to search you again but the rest kept pulling him with them. So when they saw the bridge and the others ran he stayed back. They yelled for him to follow but he shook his head, putting whatever extra weapons he could find on himself: a look of determination on his face as he declared he's not leaving without you.

And so he split up from them. Having to be quiet and stealthy was annoying, especially for someone who likes making lots of noise and rushing around; but he wasn't gonna make one mistake and risk not being able to see you again. He felt like he was on one of those survival reality shows. So he began acting as if he was to keep himself busy and have even a little bit of fun. Sometimes he spoke, whether out loud or mentally, in that David Attenborough tone as he acted as if he was filming a documentary about the zombies and his journey in finding his beautiful, strong, brave love. At one point he managed to actually find a camera so he filmed it all. Some were of him talking to it, looking ready to break and give up; whispering he's trying to keep up hope but with each day that's only getting harder. One video is of him hugging his legs, crying he wants to hug you again, wants to eat a hamburger again, wants to lazy on the couch with no worries.

Nick:

He warned Virgil to go find you as they exit the boat. Virgil assured him he will making Nick mumble he better. As they walked he kept blaming himself for the seperation: telling himself if he kept a better eye and hold on you you would still be here. At the bridge he froze as he realized once they make it across that's it: they are rescued. But without you. He tried to encourage the group to go back for you, but they broke reality to him that this is a rare chance and they should take it, that you might not even be alive anymore.

So he went with them. He hated it with every single thing in his body. But it was reality: the chance of you having made it out there alone is tinier than a bed bug. He felt like giving up as he ran over the bridge, shooting every moving thing: but somehow he didn't.

They had made it to the helicopter and gone to the new place. In his new place he broke everything in sight from pure anger, at himself, a little at you, but mostly at how the world turned out. He cried himself to sleep too many times to count, just stared at nothing for hours; regretting everything. At some points he put a pistol to his temple or a knife to his wrists: but he couldn't go through with it. Something in him said you must be out there if you made it so far with them; and that one day you will suddenly appear. So he never went through with it, just passed each day like a living dead person: feeling no motivation to do anything and having given up hope yet also not.
