Leaving the second year dorms at around 8:45am, Kiyotaka and Kei bumped into Hirata, who was waiting just by the entrance, leaning on the pillar holding the concrete canopy. He smiled and waved at the two as they approached.
"Morning Yousuke-kun!" Kei beamed.
"Good morning Yousuke. Were you waiting for us?" Kiyotaka then asked.
"Yes. I actually wanted to talk with you, Kiyotaka-kun. About our class matters."
Since there was only 15 minutes left until homeroom began, the couple and the wingman immediately began making their way to the main building, conversing on what appeared to be something important as they walked on.
"Class matters?"
Hirata smiled bitterly as he began to explain.
"Yes. Just yesterday, the class was only starting to feel the results of Kushida-san's expulsion. Everyone is beginning to feel a little more comfortable now that Kushida-san is gone, but Horikita-san has been very quiet ever since. I know people don't trust her much anymore, but in a way, she's still technically our class's leader. If she's not going to take charge again, I'm afraid of how the class will continue since I can't do too much on my own."
It was a valid worry. Hirata was not the type to become a fully fledged leader. Rather he was the type to support the actual leader, a sub leader if you will. This was what Kiyotaka had understood after being around this class for too long. It was for that reason he always pushed Hirata to support Horikita in leading the class, and it was the same for Kei.
However, Horikita's position as the class's leader was faltering. In fact, just like Icarus, she had fallen before she could continue to fly by. Ironic since Chabashira Sae had used this exact same comparison to describe Kiyotaka's situation.
Due to that fall from power, it was leaving Class B without a leader, in a situation where Ryuuen's Class C was now less than 50 points behind them and Ichinose's Class D less than 100 points. In order to move forward, power needed to be returned to someone to lead Class B. Hirata was asking Kiyotaka if he had a plan for that.
Hirata's worries were warranted. Luckily for him, Kiyotaka had already seen this coming and planned for it. Remembering that, Kei smiled, staying silent for Kiyotaka to answer.
"I see. I understand Yousuke. But you don't need to worry. I plan to fix that after homeroom. In fact, I'll need both yours and Kei's help in order to do that."
He began to explain what he was going to do, causing Hirata to be a little shocked. But he smiled in the end and nodded, agreeing to Kiyotaka's request.
