This was the second time Karuizawa Kei had been called to a rooftop knowing it was some sort of trap.
The first time was back in first year, when Ryuuen had been hunting down the person known as X. That person, being Kiyotaka, was pulling the strings behind Class D's victories and had even outsmarted Ryuuen on many occasions. That time, Ryuuen had figured out he could use Kei to get to Kiyotaka, which resulted in re-experiencing the bullying she went through as torture to out Kiyotaka's name.
Lo and behold, while Kei did get tortured to the point of her almost breaking again, she didn't and Kiyotaka did have a plan to both hide his identity and rescue her back then. It worked, to say the least.
This time though, while she and Kiyotaka did have a plan, the conditions of this rooftop meeting was different. Firstly, Ryuuen was not the aggressor. In fact, the person involved was not a student of Tokyo Metropolitan Advanced Nurturing High School at all. It was an outsider, who was targeting Kiyotaka and using Kei to get to him.
Secondly, the place of origin for this meeting differed. As an outsider, there was no way for them to get to the school rooftop. The school blocked any visitors from leaving the cultural festival area which centred around the special building, great hall (connected to the main school by one door, but also had its own doors) and the gym. Teachers and patrolling students blocked them away. Which meant there was only one area where they could meet—Keyaki Mall.
Keyaki Mall was deserted, as all staff members were visitors of the cultural festival and were not allowed to return back until the festival ended. Security guards, hired from outside the school, were patrolling Keyaki Mall to ensure it stayed safe. But when Kei arrived to head to the meeting place, they had all but disappeared. She wondered if that had anything to do with this person she was meeting.
That aside, just like that day near Christmas, Kei also headed to the rooftop of the mall. All the doors, which usually were only accessible by staff members with the keys, were unlocked and allowed her to pass through with ease. The final door was in her way, the door that would lead her to this long awaited trap. She took a deep breath, knowing what she needed to do and opened it.
There, waiting for her directly, were two individuals. One was a girl with chestnut brown hair that dropped to her waist and golden eyes, wearing a burgundy jumper and a brown skirt with leggings. The colour of her hair and eyes reminded Kei of Kiyotaka, but she pushed the thought away to focus on the next person. Said next person was covered in a black cloak with a hood. Their face was hidden so Kei couldn't determine who this person was, however judging from their height and shape of their face that she could only catch a glimpse of, this person was definitely a male adult.
"Nice to finally see you, Karuizawa Kei. I see you received the message and came here without any notice to anyone?" The girl spoke to her.
That's right, the note that was handed to her by a strange man outside the swimming pool building contained a message she couldn't ignore.
