Part 2

Monday finally came, and Kiyotaka left the second year dorms with Kei in tow. The two hadn't slept together in either dorm room, but to Kiyotaka's surprise, by the time he exited his dorm room, Kei was just about to enter. Thus, the two decided to walk to school together.

"Today is the day, Kiyotaka."

"...Indeed..."

With the midterms now over, all that was left was the most important piece this month after the cultural festival - the Student Council elections.

Granted, today was the day the students would vote who out of Ayanokouji Kiyotaka and Ichinose Honami would be their next Student Council President. Before the debate, it was painfully obvious that Ichinose was the favourite to win, especially since she had been handpicked by the current president Nagumo.

But, even after what Tsubaki had said yesterday, the answer may not have been as obvious. Whether Kiyotaka had moved the hearts of the entire school, he would not know until tomorrow when the results would be announced. Even today, both him and Ichinose were barred from entering the school hall, where the voting booths were being held. The two would sit in a separate room together and wait for all the students to vote.

"Are you confident that you'll win, Kiyotaka? Should we perhaps hand out more flyers Nanase-san and I made? I've got some in my bag still."

Voting was not until the end of the school day, which meant there was still more time for students to decide, and therefore more time for the candidates to try and win over the remaining student body.

The students around them all looked at Kiyotaka, recognising him as one of the running candidates, and immediately looked away. They were most likely the ones who were unsure of who to vote for. There was a golden opportunity to sway all these last minute voters.

But...

"You can hand them out if you wish. But I won't be going with you, Kei."

"Eh? Why?"

"It's a secret. But if you wish to know a little bit, there is someone I need to visit this morning while there is still time."

"Hrmmmm...!"

Kei's whining and pouting expression was adorable. Why she was even pouting in the first place, Kiyotaka didn't know. But seeing such an expression caused an emotion to sprang out of Kiyotaka that even he didn't think he was capable of - he laughed.

"Don't worry, I won't be gone long. But it's important that only I go. I assure you it's nothing terrible or anything to make you jealous. It does have to do with the elections though."

His laughing surprised Kei. After all, he had been expressionless for who knew how long, and despite the fact he had been slowly opening up to emotions, he NEVER laughed, not even in front of Kei.
