Authors Endnotes

Hello ladies and gentlemen. Thank you all for reading Volume 4 of All or Nothing.

How was it?

I have a lot I wish to say about this volume, so this Endnotes will be greater than the last. But first of all, I just want to rant about something real quick.

300 PAGES! 300 GOOGLE FUCKING DOCS PAGES TOTAL. That's how long this entire volume is—written from the contents all the way to these Endnotes. All or Nothing Volume 4 is the longest volume of any story I have ever written, and it just blows my mind that I managed to cram so much content into this.

While we were off to a great start in writing speed for this volume, like with a lot of other authors, roadblocks come and go. Whether this is availability to write or drop in motivation, I've been through it all. I think we should be lucky that such a long volume came out this quickly because, believe it or not, I'm not a full time writer and I spend MOST of my free time doing this when I could be doing other things.

Anyway, enough about that. Let's not waste any time and discuss this volume 4.

Firstly, let's talk about where this volume starts. We ended things pretty abruptly in Volume 3 so the beginning of Volume 4 was to show the events that stemmed after the Student Council elections. The elections were smacked in between the sports festival and the cultural festival, which meant the new Student Council had to be picked quickly. The results of the new team couldn't be fully shown in this volume alone. We'll likely see more of the new council in the next upcoming volumes. But did you like the choices made for this too? Choosing the second years and Nanase was easy, but the final first year was a debate and so I ended up choosing Takahashi, though I did consider choosing Ishigami instead.

Oh! Shall we talk about Ishigami now? What do you think about the new plot direction I made for Ishigami and Tsubaki? Arranged marriages aren't common anymore in Japan, but that doesn't mean they are non-existent. I thought showcasing that to you all this way was a great way to show it, plus it gave me a reason to finally include Ishigami into the story. The importance of Ishigami's arranged marriage with Tsubaki and why Kiyotaka is now getting involved with the two will be made apparent in the next volume (we'll get to that).

And then there's the cultural festival itself. I'm sure you all noticed how many Persona songs I included in the cultural festival chapter. Sorry, I can't help it since I'm a huge Persona fan and really enjoy all the songs in Persona. I felt like having people sing them in this volume would be so cool! Plus, I really enjoyed having Ryuuen release a mixtape after making jokes about it for years!

Are you still with me? Then let's talk about Nagumo.

A lot of you were hoping I would have Nagumo expelled after exposing his misdeeds in Volume 3. Truth is, I wanted to expel him in Volume 3's ending. But... I kinda changed my mind last minute and decided it would be better to let Nagumo's fate be decided much later. And, believe it or not, I actually like Nagumo. It's for that reason I decided to give him some relevance in Volume 4. Nagumo's fate is now heading towards a more positive direction after his involvement here and we'll hope to see a good outcome soon.

Finally, let's talk about the biggest reveals in this volume—Kei's father and Ayanokouji Kiyone. We'll start with Kei's father because some of you were probably quite scared about how I was going to handle Kei being "defiled". Don't worry, I didn't want her to actually be raped, but this type of contextual story is important and a necessary step so I had to include some form of this. I can't really say much more.

No, really, I can't say any more on this topic because I plan to reveal everything about Kei's family and Ayanokouji Kiyone in the next volume (we'll get to that). Kei's soliloquy gave pretty good hints as to what to expect for these new reveals, but you will have to wait for that.

Okay. Now that we're done talking about Volume 4. Let's announce the next volume, starting with the Volume cover!

Yes, you are seeing this correctly. The next volume of All or Nothing will be Volume 4.5.

Unlike the previous volumes, Volume 4.5 will be more of an interlude volume. The aim is to reveal truths and pasts that will help enhance and progress the plot of All or Nothing with a much better understanding.

As it is going to be an interlude volume, that also means it may be quite a short volume. Will it be shorter than Volume 3? Probably! But I can't say yet because it hasn't been fully written yet. I will try to add some more content to it to also make it entertaining, but that is not a priority.

Let's not talk about anything more than that though as you guys will have to wait for the full Volume release to find out everything!

Like I've done with Volume 3 and Volume 4, I will release four previews of Volume 4.5 when the time comes (may be three instead due to the shorter volume, but we'll see). They will be based on progression stages so stay tuned!

Anyway, thank you all once again for reading All or Nothing. Whether you like cote, hate it, or just like reading some psychological thriller/slice of life and know absolutely nothing about cote (I dunno why you're reading this if you are like this), I appreciate all of you!
