"In just a couple of minutes, everyone will be let into the school gym to cast their vote."
"Though it will only be a couple of groups each time as there are not enough booths to allow voting."
"How do you feel about this, Kiyopon? Hope you will win?"
"Hoping doesn't really matter in this case. The end result will go as I expected... On another note... Why are you three here instead of at the gym?"
Just mere minutes before the voting period, Kiyotaka had trotted his way over to the room the school had arranged for him and Ichinose to stay in while the voting commenced. He stood outside, waiting for Chairman Sakaynagi who would be joining them, to arrive.
But for some reason, he was joined by Kei, Hirata and Haruka, all of which were not meant to be with him. As soon as Kiyotaka had left the classroom, the three had followed him and decided to join him waiting.
"We're keeping you company before you're alone with Ichinose-san for an hour or two," Haruka answered with a cold smile that made Kiyotaka feel unnerved. "Also, Keipon is still a little wary about Ichinose-san so we're just here to make sure she doesn't do anything."
Ichinose was supposed to arrive here before Chairman Sakayanagi for a meeting he wanted to have with her. Usually she would be here quite early, but she still hadn't arrived yet. For Kiyotaka's sake, he was actually slightly glad about that, especially after what Haruka had just told him.
It wasn't that Kei hated Ichinose, but that she saw her as a rival who also liked Kiyotaka; the boy himself knew that. So he was slightly glad for her late arrival.
"Kanzaki-kun. You don't have to come with me, you know? You could've gone to him earlier today."
"No. It was better to leave it until now. Especially since you'll be with him for the next few hours waiting for everyone to vote."
Speaking of the devil, or angel in this case, the quad group heard approaching voices. It was Ichinose Honami and Kanzaki Ryuji approaching them. Ichinose was smiling bitterly while Kanzaki wore a scowl in his expression.
They stopped just a few feet away from the Class B students. Ichinose gave the warmest smile she could muster, but Kiyotaka could see that it was strained, almost tired. Considering it was Kanzaki that was with her, she most likely had that because of him.
"Hey, Ayanokouji-kun. Today is the day, isn't it?"
"Indeed it is. All the two of us can do is wait."
"Yeah."
Before the two could continue the conversation, Kanzaki stepped in front of Ichinose, almost blocking her as he glared at Kiyotaka. But... when Kiyotaka looked carefully at the glare Kanzaki was giving him, it looked less like it was out of anger and more of a farce.
