"Class B have begun their performance with the band."
On the other side of the campus, around the special building area, Ryuuen Kakeru stood by their outside stage, holding a radio in his hands. The voice that came out of it was from Morofuji Rika, who had been sent to spy on Class B and the KiyoKei band. Today was the day both the KiyoKei band and the Ryuuen-Shiina pair could duke it out in a battle of the bands.
Hearing Morofuji's report, Ryuuen smirked and cackled. He had been waiting for this day, the day his rematch with Kiyotaka in the most drastic way would happen. It excited him, more than he thought and for reasons he was still getting used to.
That said, he turned to the white haired girl who was nearby. "Looks like that's our cue to begin our own performance. This is my one chance to beat Ayanokouji. I'm not gonna let his little whoopy band one-up me this time."
Shiina stood up from her seat, nodding and smiling at him. Her outfit was bizarre, especially for someone like her. On top of her silver glittery hair was a baseball cap worn backwards and some headphones around her neck. She also wore a black parka on top of her red bra top, a little bit of her stomach and belly button showing, and finally some black jeans with some rips here and there.
The outfit was one that many considered gangster rappers, but it really was bizarre for someone like Shiina to be wearing it. This was in contrast to Ryuuen's outfit, which consisted of a black cap, black leather jacket and black top, grey jeans and spiked bracelets on his wrists. Unlike Shiina, Ryuuen looked normal.
But they were specifically wearing these outfits because it was a necessary means for their performance. Despite how ridiculous it may have looked for Shiina to be wearing it, this was the compromise they had to make to bring customers. Plus, it seemed like Shiina actually liked the outfit so there were no consequences to be had from it.
That aside, upon further inspection of Shiina's face, Ryuuen noticed her smile was one of nervousness. In fact, it was more anxiety than nervousness, an expression which really didn't suit the petite angel. Furthermore, that was the first time such an expression had ever dawned on her face since the first practice session.
Having such expressions was a given. Practice was different to live performances, in the way you were actually performing to an audience. In other words, rather than a small group of people—either friends or agents—watching your performance and giving feedback, live performances had a large group of people. And there was no room for mistakes. That alone was enough to make someone nervous, anxious even.
"Hey." Ryuuen put a hand on her shoulder as she looked up at him. "If your nerves take over you now, we won't win. How can you face your book buddy again if you can't face this head on?"
