Part 4

Tony's Maid & Cat Cafe.

The familiar cafe appeared in Kiyotaka's vision. It hadn't been that long since he last visited this place. Back then, it was only because he had a special arrangement to meet with someone. That someone had chosen this place to talk as it was the easiest place to be out of everyone's way. After all, unless you were an otaku or really loved cats so much that you needed to be around them, or both, no one would usually come to this cafe. Part of that reason also stemmed from the fact this cafe was more hidden than other places such as Pallet Cafe and Akuisha.

"Welcome Master and Mistress!"

After asking for a table for two at the reception, a Maid came to greet them. Kiyotaka and Kei followed the maid directing them to their table...

"Huh? So you've come back here?"

...only to find the one person Kiyotaka had been thinking of just earlier sitting at one of the tables nearby. It was a girl with short violet hair with the very back tied up in a bun. It didn't take a moment for Kiyotaka to recognise the girl.

"I should be saying the same thing to you, Tonokawa-senpai."

Tonokawa Makoto was a former secretary under Nagumo's student council. Despite working under him, Tonokawa hated Nagumo with every fibre of her being, so much so she exposed all his misdeeds to Kiyotaka. That was then given to the Principal and Chairman, who later announced the trial against Nagumo.

Kiyotaka had not seen Tonokawa since she handed him those documents. He believed she decided to lay low for a while since Nagumo knew it was her who exposed him, which therefore meant the rest of the third years did too. From what Kiyotaka could note, staring at her face, she looked fine.

"Heh. Why wouldn't I be here? Do you not remember that I said I'm an otaku and I love cats? This place is heaven to me. I'm more surprised to see you here, and I see you brought your popular girlfriend with you," She replied, taking a moment to glance at Kei.

"Huh!? Is that meant to be an insult sent at me!?" Kei quickly retorted in anger, thinking Tonokawa was looking down at her.

"Far from it," Tonokawa shook her head in exasperation. "Anyway, for real, what are you doing back here? You two don't seem like otakus, and unless you're here for the cats, there's no reason for you to come here again."

She stared at the two with curious eyes. Though Kei had been "teaching" Kiyotaka a lot about anime and manga, both she and him were far from being otakus like Sotomura Hideo. Tonokawa, being one herself, could easily see that in the popular couple with a band named after them.

"What if we were actually interested in this kind of stuff?" Kei was the one to respond instead of Kiyotaka.

At that question, Tonokawa just shook her head. "Yeah, I'm not buying it. Well whatever, it's not like it matters. I'm probably ruining your date so you should just go ahead and ignore me from now. I'll do the same."
