**** A few Months Later ****
*** Into Y/n's First Year of teaching ***(Y/n's Pov)
Harry was right, being called a professor by my students slightly grew on me the longer I teached.
Just as Life back in the Castle became like I was finally breathing again and that I never left.
I honestly thought it was going to be hard, getting back into the rhythm of being in school again.
Only this time, I was now a teacher.I wrote down on my father's old black board the potion I assigned for my class to learn as I spoke. Hearing the chatter of my students grow in volume as they filled into the classroom.
"Settle down now class and find your seats.
(They quieted down a bit and I heard chairs being pulled and pushed back in.
I turned around and smiled.
Looking at the classroom filled with Gryffindor's and Slytherin.
Like when my potions lessons were being taught by my dad.)
Today I'll be teaching you about the potion created during the War, that saved,
(I looked to see Doby smiling as he showed his healed wound to the class.
Making them gasp as they leaned closer in their seats, hoping to get a closer look.)
Our dear friend and teaching assistant for today's lesson, Dobby".
Dobby then said, smiling as he summoned the Ruby vile I used to save him from the potions cabinet.
"The Draught of life"!I looked at the astonishment on my students faces as the vile floated past them at their desks.
But no amount of noise could cover the Snicker of arrogant students or what they said over the compliments or whatever subject their peers were talking about that led to the two Gryffindor's subject of my father.Emily Finnegan and her desk mate, maria Thompson.
"I bet the Dark Headmaster could have used that as he was dying in the boat house".I sneared at them as the old wound that took years to heal opened up.
'How dare they'!
Dobby heard them as I did and the Vile came flying back to me, drawing everyone's attention to what was said.
I caught ithe vile in my left hand and said as everyone looked at me in shock and went into silence."The wizarding war is no laughing matter!
Nor are the lives that were slain, taken or lost during that time, period!
(I walked slowly down the Isles of desks and said, my gaze glancing over students that looked at who I was heading to.)
Good people, students, muggles and wizards outside and inside these hallowed halls of academia were lost.
Every loss out there and in this school is a tragedy to the wizarding community.
(I stopped in front of Emily Finnegan and she looked as many students during my time at school when faced with my father's stare.)
This is a school where friends and family that your parents and the people they cared about had survived and perished.
(I then turned to look at all my students and Dobby, who was seething as I was, he never took his eyes off of Emily.
I walked to him and placed a hand on his shoulder and he looked up at me.
I nodded at him, feeling him.
'I got it, it's okay'.He nodded and crossed his arms.
I then turned to the whole class and said seriously.)
The hands of life and fate could have turned on anyone that walked out of the wake of that War after math.
(I turned my back to them and took a deep breath, realizing I probably scared the poor kids.
Like how my father sometimes did to me without meaning to, making up for it by sneaking into the kitchens with me for a cup of hot cocoa.
I took a couple of deep breaths and set the Vile down on my desk and stood straight.
'You just have this class left, you can do this'.
But afterwards I would definitely not be in the mood to see anyone.
The friends I lost, along with family flashed under my eyelids.
I then closed my eyes as the non-existent screaming ceased in my ears.)
Turn to page 777 and study the Draught of Life's ingredient list.
Then gather what you need from the potion ingredients cabin and then we'll head to the apparting point that will take us to a Beach ".I could sense a student raising their hand without having to turn my back.
I then said as I looked to see it was a Gryffindor that looked like her mother, but with her dad's hair.
"Yes Rose"?
Rose then said, setting her hand down.
"Why sun light from a beach Professor"?
I then said smiling.
"Because Life began from the Ocean millions of years ago when the earth was just taking its first steps.
Sunlight provides all living creatures the nourishment they need in order to live and conduct daily tasks.
And rubies,
(I held the ruby vile in my hand and said.)
Are strong channelers/conductors of magic.
Enhancing the survival rates of the victims receiving the draught".Rose then raised her hand again and I smiled.
'She is just like her mom'.I nodded and rose then spoke.
"And the wizards life Force?
Was there anything specific you needed to do when you cut your palm on the sea glass"?'Practically a carbon copy, it's scary.
Hermione was the only one that could have suspected that I done something that affected my blood'.I nodded and said as Dobby looked at me.
"When you're using your life force as the main ingredient of the draught, it impacts the victims chemistry because you want their chances of survival to be higher against the odds of their demise.
You must wish for them to live their best and full lives".The students rose from their desks and I calmed a bit as I watched them gather the correct ingredients in my father's old potions ingredients cabinet.
(Time Skip)
I didn't even hear my students murmur as they exited the classroom after we came back from our rendezvous to create the draught of life and then turning in their potion, labeling their names upon their Ruby viles.
I then sat at my desk and sighed into my hands, rubbing my temples and said softly, talking to someone that no longer lived in the same plain of existence as me when I looked at the picture I had of my father on his old desk.
Thinking back to when days were good at the school, a time when I hung out with my family and friends before shit had hit the fan.
"When did I suddenly change dad"?Severus snape may have appeared to be a bitter pill that was hard to swallow for most people, but in the end, he came through and was a good man that mother told me he was.
He protected me and hid my heritage until he couldn't anymore, but a certain golden trip that fought alongside me when hunting horcorxes and in combat.
But, after he died, I haven't seen them since the war since my father died.Seeing his mangled neck thanks to Old nose noses snake, the memories flashing across my eyes and tears threatened to escape.
A couple managed to get past me before I regained my failing control over my strongest emotions.
I looked around the potions lab father practically lived and breathed out of.
Then I took a couple deep, and slightly raged breaths as tears began building again.
'I shouldn't have come to work here so soon, but I promised Draco I would be here for Scorpius'.Professor Snape, the Dark Headmaster, may have never been overly affectionate in public, but he made up for it when he was alone with me, his daughter.
Dobby then said as he set a gentle hand on mine.
"Are you alright Mistress Y/n"?I then said as I went to a hidden exit in the classroom, thinking back to when my father showed it to me.
"I will be, in time.
But right now, I need a minute to myself before being in a room filled with students and faculty".
Dobby nodded and then apperated out of the classroom.
I absent mindedly rubbed at my heart, where the invisible wound throbbed, with my right hand as I touched the access point with my left.'So that's what dad meant about the greatest pain one can feel without a wound or potion'.
I entered the exit just in time to not have seen leaving this way when the classroom door opens.Revealing Harry from my position behind the wall through the tiny peep hole.
'Dobby must have told him what happened, only he could have gotten Harry here so quickly.
The DADA classroom is on the other side of the Castle, Harry could only have gotten here so fast through Dobby's help'.I didn't stick around behind the hidden passage way to see if he would find me.
He could very well have the Marauders Map on his person and I meant what I said to Dobby.
At the moment, I need to be alone.
And away from people. To be continued...
