Kaname Kuran x (Reality Resident) Reader Part 4

(Y/n's Pov) * A few Hours Later *

The sound of snoring reached my ears when the credits of Zombieland Double Tap ended.
I turned my head to the right from where I sat in my bean bag chair and softly smiled when I saw that the snoring came from Zero.
I got up and carefully moved to his bed and grabbed his blanket.
Being vigilant came from being a vampire hunter, but being extra vigilant, came from being a doting sibling that does not want to wake up Zero when he just fell asleep.

Ever since Zero finished the transition from human into vampire last year after drinking the woman's blood four years ago, Zero has rarely gotten any sleep at night.
I carefully tucked the blanket around Zero's shoulders and the moved the hair that fallen over his forehead and I softly sighed at his peaceful expression.
I then stood up and slowly stretched.
Looking out the crack in curtains covering the window of mine and Zeros shared dorm room.
Hearing the rain hit the roof and seeing it hit the glass planes of the window.

'Zero will need a hair cut in a little bit'.

I then went to the window and pulled the curtains a bit farther and slightly opened the window enough for the smell of rain to drift into the room.
I then took a deep breath and filled my senses and lungs with the smell of the rain and scent of petrichor (rain being soaked up by cement and other rock material's).

'This smell, brings me peace, centers me'.

The scent truly brought me at ease, despite everything that's going on, all the chaos, and the horror of the Level E's & other vampires me and Zero will have to kill or face in our lifetime.
This smell of rain, wet grass, rock and dirt, truly brought me peace in spite of all that chaos.
Despite my eyes being closed, one face stares back at me and I can't look away from his soft/sweet brownish red eyes.
'Just like Kaname centers me'.

I then opened my eyes and stood firmer as I closed the curtains, my eyes flickering to the direction of the Day Class Girls dormitories after noticing the dark gray skies gotten lighter, indicating that the sun was slowly rising.
Yuki's laugh didn't bring a smile to my face as it echoed in my ears, it haunted me.

'No one can know, not anyone, not the headmaster, not Zero, and not even Yuki.
It would kill me if she found out the truth.
(I rubbed my eyes and grabbed a towel as I carefully walked past Zero and exited our room.)
Zero would forgive me in time for this betrayal.
And Kaien,
(His cheerful laughter and gleeful smiling wasn't out of place with the image of him as a loving father
But knowing what he once did for a living before fully committing to teaching, that child like/care free behavior was what terrified me.)
He be overjoyed by the fact that a hunter such as myself is in love with a vampire, a pure blood at that.
He'll use this infatuation, if you can call what ever is between me and Kaname infatuation (and if it exists for us both), as an example that vampires, humans and vampire hunters can co-exist.
I made it to the headmaster's living quarters and lifted my head when I heard my adopted father spoke.
"Ah Y/n, your still awake?
(I softly smiled as I saw him wearing the pink Valentine's Day apron with the 'hang in there' cute bat I got him for Father's Day, including the baby blue oven mitts.
Setting down what he was cooking in the crockpot in the mat on the table.
I followed him to the dinning area and we both sat down after he placed the pot on the mat to keep from burning the table.)
I though you be resting or reading a good book right now ".

I shrugged my shoulders and said, pointing to the rain pelted window beside us.
"Me and Zero were watching Zombieland and ZombieLand Double Tap, we thought that, considering the weather, both films were perfect for viewing".

Kaien ahhed and said smiling.
"Ah yes, your quite right.
(He then looked at my posture, and I sat a bit straighter, the corners of my mouth wincing.
He sounded partly sad, and serious as the caring parent he always is.)
Yuki told me you took her place when falling in front of the Night Class Students earlier this evening.
(I looked into his eyes and he asked.)
How is your side feeling"?
