Kagami walked back into the cafe part of the cat cafe, Aomine following him.  He'd been lucky that no one had walked in.  He was worried that Makoto might be worried for him and come to see what was going on.  He held Aomine's hand, smiling back at him, "My shift ends in an hour, I'll take you back to my place and introduce you to Alex."

Aomine's eyes narrowed, but only for a moment.  Kagami figured he was upset that Alex was staying with him while Aomine didn't even know where he lived.  Aomine's face went back to the happier look from when they were entangled in each other's arms in the staff room.  Aomine nodded, "I'll be back when you're done."

Kagami smiled, giving Aomine's hand one last squeeze before letting his hand go.  Aomine walked back through the front door of the cafe, not making a commotion the way he had when he walked in.  Kagami was just glad that everyone in the cafe was back to their own business.  He didn't want any more attention then he needed.

He walked back behind the counter, taking his place as barista.  Unfortunately, there were several orders backed up.  Makoto wasn't quite as fast at making the fancy beverages as he was.  He hadn't meant to be gone so long.  Even though what they did was just a quickie, he and Aomine were still in the staff room for half an hour.

As he started catching up on the orders, he could feel Makoto's eyes boring into him.  Finally Makoto said, "That was a long talk.  Looked like you were able to calm Aomine down though."

Kagami's face reddened and he couldn't bring himself to look up.  He just kept staring into the foam of the latte he was making.  "Actually, we hardly talked...  He was upset with me for leaving and not talking to him for a couple days-"

"Are you mad at him?  Did something happen?"  Since the line was currently empty, Makoto walked closer to Kagami, resting his hand on Kagami's shoulder.

"No, kind of," Kagami shrugged, "But that wasn't why I didn't talk to him.  Okay maybe it was part of it."  Kagami didn't want to think about why he left without telling Aomine.  Aomine had been so much better today, he just wanted to hold onto that.

Makoto pressed, "What happened?"

He knew Makoto meant well and he did want to tell him, tell someone.  He hadn't told anyone about the things Aomine said.  He glanced up at Makoto, "The other day, he called me over to fuck and I ended up making dinner for us too.  And then when we were doing it, he called me a slut, said that my greedy asshole was the best part of being with me."

"Kagami..." Makoto gently rubbed Kagami's shoulder.

Kagami didn't give him a chance to say anything, he didn't want pity.  "So next morning, I left before he woke up and barely texted him for these last couple days.  That's why he came bursting in here."

"He's no good for you, Kagami," Makoto's voice was filled with genuine concern.

Kagami shook his head, "I thought he was going to explode when he came here today.  But he was really just concerned and didn't want to lose me."

"Really?"  Makoto bit his lip to keep himself from saying anything more.  Kagami knew he hadn't convinced Makoto of Aomine's true feelings.  Quite frankly, Kagami wasn't sure what to make of Aomine's feelings either.

"Don't tell anyone," Kagami leaned closer, speaking so only Makoto could hear, "We did it just now and..."  Makoto's eyes widened and just stared back at Kagami, speechless.  "And it was so different, it was like he really loved me."

"I don't know Kagami..." Makoto was able to put words together again, "Why was he so different?  Be careful around him."

"I want to trust him," Kagami looked down at the drink and back at Makoto, "I love him too."
