Ash had taken to checking up on Jace. The fiasco with Althea did not help the Lazarus situation. After that incident, it seemed as if Lazarus was just logging in for the required hours. The only fighting he did was to ward off Heroes who had tracked him down for the rumoured rewards. They were seriously hampering any progress. He couldn't move around freely anymore.

Ash wondered if Rose knew the effect of her clash with Jace had on Lazarus. Or maybe she didn't care?

"How are you holding up?"

"I'm okay I guess."

"How about Laz?"

"He's not doing so well but he will live. He has to survive, now."

"Has to?" Ash raised his eyebrows. "Wait a second, you mean you were really going to give up on him? Seriously?"

"There didn't seem to be a point of going on. Too many obstacles now, the odds are stacked up against him. The poison is getting worse, time is running out, I doubt he could survive and find the cure in time even if he manages to cross the portal. And now, thanks to the video he can't move around freely in there. There are too many players hunting him down."

Jace paused.

"Anya dropped a bomb on me."

"What?"

"She will die if Laz is not around. It seems once a familiar is chosen, it is bonded to that Ghost Lord. I thought I could release her to choose again but that was not the case."

"Oh my god, she lied to get you to choose her?" Ash exclaimed. He kept quiet for a while digesting the information. If Jace stopped playing, it would not be fun anymore. There would be no one of like mind to get into scraps with. "Ahh, so now you are going to continue?" he asked hopefully.

"I'm working on it. I've got to try, right? For Anya?"

He relaxed hearing Jace's response. He would continue playing for now.

"So, since I can't do much in there, I'm going to help Laz out here."

Ash cleared a space and sat down next to Jace on his mattress. He peered at the screen. "What's all this? What are you working on?" he asked.

"Research ... Hey, give me that. Don't mess it up." He snatched the papers from Ash's hand. "This ..." and he turned the screen to Ash, "... is my salvation. Plan B. I thought I'd work on it a while since Lazarus needs a break. There were too many maniacs chasing him around at the moment." It was better to work on saving Laz offline now.

"What do you think?"

Ash studied the screen. It was the equipment editor. His eyes opened wide in surprise at the image displayed. He studied the picture of a self-made bow in it.

"Wow, nice! You upgraded it, accuracy, range, hmm. What's that silvery metal the limb is made from?"

"It's some sort of super alloy from the level 65 dungeon which had a cool metal Boss. It's strong and flexible. I don't know what it is exactly, it's probably not a real substance, a made-up thing by Simtrixx."

"Oh, like the vibranium metal in Avengers?" Ash went closer to the screen.

"I don't think vibranium is flexible, it was used for Captain America's shield. If it was flexible, Cap would be in trouble."

"It's better than your darklight bow."

"Yeah, my darklight bow is level 50, this one has surpassed it because of the level 65 materials. It will be even better when I run the higher level dungeons later."
