After the chase, you and Hank split to go back to your houses. You were getting ready to head out, but Connor came up to you. You smiled at him.
"(Y/n), I was thinking of what you said earlier. I was wondering why exactly you were so worried over my well-being." Connor explained. You were surprised, but you smiled.
"Connor, you do understand how friendship works don't you?" You asked.
"You consider me...a friend?" He asked.
"Yes. You're...you're an amazing friend." You said. He looked a little surprised. You chuckled. You had an idea.
"Hey..you wanna...go for a walk together?" You asked. He looked surprised.
"A walk?" He asked. You smiled.
"Let's go." You said. You took his hand and you both walked out together, you slightly pulling Connor along. You both walked together and you enjoyed it. It was quiet for a bit until you decided to speak.
"So Connor, you were...pretty impressive today aside from giving me a near heart attack." You said.
"I..was?" He asked. You nodded.
"I would be too terrified to do any of that." You replied. He smiled a little.
"You did some of it." He said. You looked over.
"What? No I didn't."
"You chased it behind me. You caught up to it when I...lost it. I...I think you did a great job." He said. You hid your blush, looking away.
"R-Really?" You asked.
"Yes." He said. You smiled, tucking a stray strand of hair behind your ear. You both walked for awhile. "I saw you had two pets playing when I came over. Do you like dogs?" He asked.
"I think all animals should be lovable in their own way. It all depends on what kind of person you are, right?" You said. He smiled.
"Valid points." He agreed. You smiled. As you walked along, you felt your heart slowly start beating faster. "I like dogs. Hank has a dog. I wonder if they would get along." You chuckled.
"Probably." As you walked, you spotted a park nearby. "Hey! Let's go explore!" You said.
"Are you sure?" He asked. You nodded. You grabbed his hand again and tugged him along. You both looked around and you spotted a slide. You ran toward it like a child and called for Connor to follow. He watched you climb up. "(Y/n), I don't see the point of engaging in these child like activities." You chuckled.
"Because it's fun!" You said and slid down to the ground.
"Fun?" He asked. You nodded brushing the back of your pants off. "I've..never had fun." He said. You turned to face him, realizing he was right. You frowned for a moment. You got an idea.
"Come on. Let me show you." He smiled a little. You pulled him toward the swings. You sat down on one and gestured for him to do the same. He looked a little hesitant, but he sat down and you began to kick your legs back and forth. Connor stayed stationary. "Come on, Connor! Try it!" You invited.
"I think I'm better off just watching you, (Y/n)." He said.
"Please Connor!" You said. He thought it over. "Just try it, okay?" He sighed.
"Okay..." He said, still hesitant. He began to kick his legs. You smiled.
"That's it!" You said. He smiled a little and he started swinging back and forth. You both swung back and forth and you laughed happily as you did. Connor chuckled, a smile on his lips. You looked over and saw joy shining in his chocolate brown eyes. You stared at him, blushing slightly. He's unlike anyone I've ever met. You pushed the thought aside. You looked forward.
"What now?" Connor asked. You got an idea.
"Jump!" You said.
"Wait, what?" He asked, alarmed and his LED going yellow.
"Come on! One!"
"(Y/n), I really don't think-"
"Two!"
"(Y/n), hang on! That's not a good-"
"THREE!" You shouted and leaped off. You nealry went straight up, about 5-6 feet in the air. You fell through the air and landed hard on your side. You made a loud 'thump' and let out a loud 'oof'. Connor gasped.
"(Y/n)!" He jumped off going more forward than up, unlike yourself. He hurried over to you, looking rather worried. "(Y/n)? Are you alright? Are you hurt? Did you break anything!? I can call an ambulance-"
"Connor!" You laughed. He looked concerned and confused. You kept laughing. "The only thing that broke was my funny bone!" You joked, soon beginning to calm down from your laughing fit.
"I don't understand. That would be extremely painful. Why are you laughing?" He asked. You chuckled. You cupped his cheek.
"Because you're such a dork, Connor." You said. He blushed slightly.
"I-I..don't understand how I would be classified as a dork." He said. You smiled.
"You really are one of a kind." He smiled a little.
"I am nothing special. I can be remade in a few hours...unlike you." He said. You frowned, confused.
"Wait..what?" You asked.
"You are...unique. There is only one of you, (Y/n). I have never met a human like yourself. I could easily be replaced, you can never be replaced. There is only one of you. I guess other humans would call you 'special'. Maybe ever remarkable." He said, blushing. You were stunned. He just...complimented me. You hugged him.
"Connor, no matter what there is no android on earth even remotely close to you. I know you think of yourself as just a machine, but...I've never met anyone like you either. You're just as special as me, Connor. I believe that." You told him. He hugged back.
"I...I'm flattered you think so highly of me." He said. You smiled. "It is getting late. You should get back home before your friends get worried." You frowned a little as you both pulled away from the hug.
"Oh...right..." You said. He smiled softly at you.
"Would you like me to walk you home?" He asked. You smiled and nodded.
"I would love that." You replied. You both walked back to your home side by side. You looked up at the stars as you did. "Aren't they beautiful? The sky is so clear tonight. They look like sparkles." You said.
"Yes. They do." He agreed. You breathed in and breathed out, still staring up at the stars. I have never been this happy in my entire life. You thought.
You both soon arrived at your house. You were sad to say goodbye to him. You wanted him to stay, but you knew he'd insist that he go and let you rest. You looked up at him.
"That was...nice." You said. He nodded.
"Yes. It was." You noticed he sounded and looked slightly disappointed too. You wondered if he wanted to stay.
"Would you...like to stay the night?" You asked.
"No. I'm alright. Thank you for the offer, but I will be fine." He said. You felt slightly disappointed, wishing he would've said yes.
"Oh. O-okay...I understand." You said.
"Well, I suppose I'll see you-" Screw it. You thought. You kissed him. He stood there, shocked. You pulled away.
"I'll see you tomorrow." You said, looking at the ground shyly. "Goodnight, Connor." You said as you walked in and disappeared behind the door. You smiled to yourself as you sighed happily. I don't know how or why, but man do I love that android.
