Connor's POV

As they cheered, I noticed (Y/n) was leaving. I was confused. Where is she going? I decided to follow her. I walked after her since nobody was paying much attention to us. I caught up to her.

"(Y/n)? Where are you going?" I asked.

"Nowhere." She said.

"Don't say that. Please, I want to know." I said.

"Connor, just leave me alone." She said.

"I'm afraid I cannot." I said.

"Oh? And why's that?" She asked.

"Because even I'm not your friend, you are my friend." I told her. She glanced back at me.

"I don't understand you, Connor. Why do you always have to try so hard?" She asked.

"Because it was never my style to give up." I told her, hoping she would let me come with her.

"Maybe you should learn when to stop trying then." She said and kept walking. I frowned. She kept going without a word and I stood there, wishing I could reach her. I sat down on a bench and sighed heavily.

"You okay, Connor?" I looked up. I saw Jacob standing there.

"Jacob?" I was confused as to why he came to me. He sat down next to me.

"Yeah, it's me. So, what's got you all huffy and puffy?" He asked, lighting a cigar and smoking it. I don't know why he did it, but it didn't matter since it couldn't hurt him. (DON'T SMOKE YALS! DAT AIN'T TRUE FOR US HUMANS!) I wondered if I should tell him. I decided it couldn't hurt. He was here to help after all.

"I regret everything that happened before all of this. I don't know how to tell her. She won't let me. I said I was sorry, but it only made her even more angry at me. I want to help her. I want to stay with her, but it just makes her unhappy." I said. He puffed out a small cloud.

"Alright, I get it. Listen, Connor, I know it's not easy for you to tell her, and it's not easy for her to forgive you, but you can't just say sorry as if the teacher is scolding you from hitting somebody. You need to show her you're serious about this." He said. I thought about it. He was right. If I didn't that it would more than likely affective our relationship status in a positive rather than a negative way.

"Thanks, Jacob." I said. He nodded.

"Now go after her. She isn't going to wait forever." He said. I nodded and I hurried after her. I followed the tracks she left in the snow, hoping to find her soon enough.

Your POV

You walked through the cold and silent streets. It was almost a deathly silence compared to the brutal sounds of gunfire from just minutes ago. You greeted the silence welcomingly. You kept walking to your destination. Soon enough, you made it. Ambassador Bridge. You thought. You walked onto it. There was no traffic. It was just you out here. Just you under the lights in the freezing night air, and nothing else. There was absolutely nothing. You felt the wind blow by you, making a slight sound, but only that. You looked out over the water. It shimmered in the light of the exceedingly bright full moon.

You closed your eyes. You thought about when you had last seen yourself standing here. Now, you understood.

*Flashback*

You looked around. You were on a bridge that went over the water. You looked out. It was beautiful. You smiled as the cool night air gently blew into your face. You stood there as cars drove by. You felt happy. You didn't care if you were alone. You felt free.

As you stood there you stared out at the water and then your gaze drifted to the sky. You smiled. The stars were bright and it was a full moon. You loved it. It was peaceful. It was breathtaking.

Soon, something caught your attention. The rumbling of cars behind you had stopped. You turned and found that no more cars were driving by. You were confused. You looked along both sides of the bridge. Nothing. No cars, no people, not even birds were around. You were confused. The only things you could hear were the wind and the distant splash of the water below. You looked around. Where is everyone? Why did everything just stop? You wondered.

"(Y/n)!" You heard a voice. You looked around.

"Hello?"

"(Y/n)!" You grew worried now.

"Hello!? What's going on!? Where are you!?" You called louder. You suddenly felt the wind pick up. It started out at a bearable level, but then it started waging against you. You tried to keep your footing. You kept hearing your name being shouted over the howling of the wind pushing you back. You were pushed back by a powerful gust of it. You yelped in surprise. You expected to be greeted by the ground, but your heal got caught and you tripped. You felt the wind rushing past your body. You felt horrified as you realized you were falling. You tried to scream, but you could only cry in silence as you fell down, going faster and faster toward the water.

*End Flashback*

You remembered the horrid nightmare you had. You remembered how Oreon had comforted you after you had woken up shaking and sobbing. You frowned a bit more at the memory. You sighed, pushing it away.

You looked around. You were alone. You walked toward the railing of the bridge. You leaned forward against it crossed your arms to support yourself. You started out at nothing for the longest time. Well, time isn't going to get any faster or slower. Let's go.

You climbed up and stood on the railing, holding onto a pole that was there so you wouldn't fall. You looked up at the moon. It seemed as if it was ready to welcome you. You felt ready to meet it as well. You looked down at the water far, far below you. It'll all be over. You thought. The idea somehow made you feel content.

As you were about to let go, you heard a voice shout your name. You ignored it at first, but then it yelled louder. You turned your head. You were surprised to see Connor further away on the bridge. He was running toward you.

"(Y/n)! Don't!" He shouted.

"Guess you pieced it together, detective. But sadly I don't want to stop anymore." You muttered, mostly to yourself.

"(Y/n)!!" He shouted.

"I told you to leave. Now it's my turn." You muttered. You let go and leaned back.

"(Y/N)!!!" He screamed in terror. You fell, going faster and faster and faster. You shut your eyes as your final decision was made. You enjoyed the weightless feeling as you plummeted. It was the last sensation of pleasure you allowed yourself. You heard the voice in your head speak to you. You jumped. The water was growing closer. You will never survive this. You let your body go completely limp, embracing your final moments. In moments, you will be dead. You opened your eyes. The bridge was now far away. A smile tugged at your lips. I'm going to die. You closed your eyes again, enjoying the final moments of your long fall.

The howl of the wind rushing past you ceased as it was drowned out by the deafening sound of your limp body crashing harshly into the freezing, cold, and unforgiving water. You let it swallow you up, sinking deeper and deeper into the deadly cold abyss.

You could no longer breathe. The freezing water felt like a thousand knives in your back. The sheering pain lasted for a few moments until you went numb. You let the void take you. It cradled your dying body, sucking the life out of you slowly. It was almost comforting. It was welcoming and almost even addicting.

To finish yourself, you opened your mouth and attempted to breathe. Water filled your artificial lungs, choking you. Your body writhed involuntarily as a reaction. You twitched and jerked in the water until your fell still again, continuing to sink to the bottom. You smiled, shutting your eyes and welcoming your inevitable death.
