Connor's POV

I walked toward Amanda. She was sitting in a boat, clearly waiting for me. I walked over to her and she greeted me.

"Hello, Connor. I thought you might enjoy a little cruise." She said. I got in without a word and I rowed since she had an umbrella. After a moment, she spoke again. "I love this place. Far from the noise of the world. Tell me, what have you discovered?"

"My relationship with Lieutenant Anderson is problematic. He continues to struggle with psychological issues. I suspect it clouds his judgement regarding deviants." I explained.

"Nothing matters more than your investigation. What's happening is too important. Don't let Anderson or anyone else get in your way." She said. "Anything else?" I remembered (Y/n) again.

"I...found out the truth about (Y/n). She was in fact a deviant. I wish I could've seen it sooner. I could've prevented...a lot of things." I said, still upset with myself. If only I hadn't been such an idiot. Amanda spoke again, bringing me out of my thoughts.

"It was not your fault, Connor. They had advanced hacking systems and were able to hide themselves even from your scans. I was right to want to keep an eye on them. At least you destroyed one of the deviants. Even that works in our favor." She said. I didn't like how she said that. I felt bad about Oreon. I could've still had (Y/n)'s help, but now she was gone and I had no idea where she was. I felt I had lost in all aspects for that situation. "You seem...lost, Connor. Lost and perturbed." She said.

"I'm just frustrated with my lack of progress, but I'm determined to accomplish my mission." I replied.

"You had your gun trained on those deviants at the Eden Club. Why didn't you shoot?" She asked. I remembered the two girls for a short moment.

"We need the deviants intact for analysis. Shooting them wouldn't have taught us anything." I replied.

"If your investigation doesn't make progress soon, I may have to replace you, Connor." She said. I felt a little nervous and slightly threatened by that comment, but I knew she was right. I wasn't making any progress and that wasn't a good thing.

"I know I will succeed. All I need is time." I replied. She looked around.

"Something's happening. Something serious. Hurry, Connor. Time is running out." She told me. With that, I left the garden.

*Later*

I was doing my coin tricks. Hank was standing next to me in the elevator with his arms crossed. He clearly didn't like it as he soon got annoyed with it. He grabbed the coin.

"You're starting to piss me off with that coin, Connor." I was a little surprised as he took it away.

"Sorry Lieutenant." I replied. Then we reached the right floor. It came to a stop and the computerized voice said,

"79th floor." We both walked out together, Hank in the lead with myself right behind him.

"Hi, Hank." A fellow officer greeted.

"Shit, what's going on here? There was a party and nobody told me about it?" Hank asked.

"Yeah, it's all over the news, so everybody's butting their nose in. Even the FBI wants a piece of the action." He explained. Hank looked annoyed.

"Ah Christ, now we got the Feds on our back...I knew this was gonna be a shitty day." Hank said. "So what do we got?" I followed them as the officer explained.

"A group of 5 androids. They knew the building, and they were very well organized. We're still trying to figure out how they got this far without being noticed." He said. "They attacked two guards in the hallway. They probably thought the androids were coming to do maintenance. They got taken down before they could react. One of the station employees managed to get away. He's in shock, not sure when we'll be able to talk to him."
