Lena Adams and Robert Quinn have been best friends since they were born. Lena is two weeks younger than Robert and their mothers, Dana and Raquel respectively and their fathers, Stuart and Robert Sr. respectively have been friends since daycare. So it was no wonder that Lena and Robert were best friends.

They were in every grade together and they both did Cross Country, Soccer and Track and were Captains for their teams. No one got between them and they were inseparable and nothing could tear them apart.

They would sneak out together as kids and go to the beach or park, near their home in Mission Bay and they always went home and were never discovered. If they were, neither wouldn't be able to sit down properly.

When they were both eight, Robert kissed Lena on the lips and she grinned and he smiled.

"I will marry you one day," he replied.

"And I will say yes," she replied back. "And we are going to have three babies."

"Good," he replied as they kissed again. But Robert defended Lena from other kids since they always made fun of her for not looking like her daddy and it hurt Lena to the core and she always cried. Robert would always comfort her and be her little bodyguard.

"If it isn't Mixed Me Lena," some girl sneered. "Whose your daddy?"

"Stuart Adams!" Lena replied.

"Can't be. He's white as bread," Nancy Kirk replied. "Your mama cheated."

"Leave my mama alone!" Lena replied. "You are ignorant and dumb."

"Whatever half breed," Nancy said. "Bye Mixed Me Lena."

"Bye foster girl," Robert replied. "We know all about it."

Nancy Kirk  pushed him down and Lena helped Robert up as Nancy Kirk was taken away.

"Are you okay?" Lena asked.

"Never better. You?"

"Great," she lied. He hugged her as she cried and if she had kids she never wanted them to go through this. They went to their lockers and by then Lena was only hiccuping as he patted her back.

Lena opened her locker and gasped and gaped at all the wet rags inside as she cried. Robert went to her and eyed the wet rags. "Who did this?" he asked upset. His best friend was in tears as she again was crying.

"They are for Lena to rub the black off her. So she can look more like her daddy!" Nancy replied as she laughed. Other kids laughed too as Nathan Adams walked in and glared at Nancy since he heard everything.  Nate is fifteen and seven years older than Lena.

"Leave my baby sister alone!" Nate replied. Nancy eyed him in shock.

"You are her sister?" Nancy asked. "How?"

"Yes. We have the same dad and different moms, but the only mom I've ever known is Lena's. So leave her alone."

Nancy and her posse ran off as Lena hugged Nate hard. He hugged her back and picked her up as she wrapped her legs around his waist and cried. Robert felt bad and eyed Nate.

"She's been on Lena's case all day," Robert replied.

"What's her name?" Nate asked with a clenched jaw.

"Nancy Kirk and she's been like this since second grade," Robert said.

Robert and Lena finished elementary school together and were now in middle school and Nancy Kirk was still a mean bitch and got the nickname Monster Girl. She hated anyone who wasn't her skin color.
