What If: I Choose Lena

Robert Leonard Quinn went to his dad's office and walked in and it felt different when he eyed his dad since he had green eyes and and he seemed off, but he didn't pay much attention to detail as he sat down for brunch in his dad's office.

"So what's up dad?" Robert asked. "I have to meet up with Lena for lunch."

"This is about Lena and I realized I made a mistake by letting you get married to her."

"Excuse me?" Robert asked. "What's wrong? You always wanted me to marry Lena. You and mom both. What's changed?"

"You need someone in your race and class," Robert Quinn Sr. said.

"Excuse me? Where is this coming from? Race and class?"

"I don't want mixed in my family," the old man snapped. Robert Jr. shook his head.

"Well tough," he replied.

"Excuse me?" his dad asked.

"You heard me, tough shit," he replied. If Lena were there, she would have gave him the stink eye. "I don't care what you say or think. I love her and she loves me."

"What are you saying?" Robert Jr. asked.

"It's Lena or the family. You decide."

"Lena. I choose Lena. HER."

"Excuse me?" he asked as he rose from his chair.

"Are you deaf? I choose Lena. Shes's my family and the only family I need."

"You want her?" his dad asked.

"Yes I do since I married her."

"Then you are out," his dad said.

"Out of what?" Robert Jr. asked.

"My will," his old man snapped.

"Fine by me. Lena and I will get by on our own," Robert snapped as he left.

"Don't come crawling back to me."

"Like I ever would. I rather be middle class than, the stuck up, rich people."

He got up and left and slammed the door behind him and went to Catalina to think and he got so mad he was gone for the whole day and never went home.

Lena was in her Doctor's office since she felt off and tired and sick since she threw up in the morning three times and figured it was a bug or the flu.

Her Doctor, Matilda Rios came in and smiled. "You got a bug alright."

"How long?" Lena asked.

"Seven months. You my friend are two months along. Congrats you have a baby bug."

Lena was stunned and shocked, but it wore off as she cried happy tears, granted her and Robert weren't trying for a baby, but she was pregnant and she was happy and Robert would be too once she told him as she got six ultrasound pictures done and got her prenatal vitamins and stopped at the Dollar Tree and got a card and put the ultrasound picture in and wrote in big letters. "Family of three soon."

She got home and made dinner as it reached ten at night as she called Robert's cell and left several voice messages and texts that were never returned or answered as she got worried and she went to bed scared as she rubbed her tummy and got calm and settled and Robert never came home.

In the morning, he came home as the door opened and Lena, Raquel, Ruthie had run up to him and hugged him hard and tight.

"Robert Leonard Quinn. Where the hell where you?" Lena screamed out since she rarely swore or yelled. He eyed her in shock.
