Grace Janelle Stiles Miller watched with a wide smile as her twins she adopted from foster care with her wife Susan Andrea Stiles Miller were playing together on their huge play structure in their huge backyard. They were chasing each other back and forth as she marveled how lucky her and Susan were when they first became foster parents to the two month old babies they grew to love. They chose them to be their son and daughter and their babies chose them.

She remembered the grief they went through when her and Susan found out they could never have babies on their own. It broke them, but instead of deciding to be a childless couple they decided to become foster parents and they got lucky when Bill Ortiga came by with the two month old babies in tow and their life was never the same again. It actually got better and they realized the babies were meant to be their son and daughter.

She smiled as she remembered their first smiles, how they crawled for the first time, their first time eating solid foods, their first time they walked and the first time they talked, their potty training for the first time and their other firsts.

But she felt for her babies, her and Susan often wondered if their babies would ever ask who their biological mother was or even their biological father. They never wanted to keep things from their children and when they were eight they told them they were adopted and their babies took it in stride. Grace remembered the day they told the twins they were in foster care and adopted.

"Why didn't they want us?" Mason asked.

"Your bio mother was thirteen when she had you two," Grace replied.

"Her loss and our gain," Susan smirked as the twins smiled.

"But?" Madison asked.

"She had another set of twins," Grace replied. "Your two are four years older."

"She had more kids? Oh," Mason said. "What are they?"

"A boy and girl and they are in the foster care system. They were taken away from her too."

"Why?" the twins asked.

"She made poor choices," Susan said. "And her twins were taken right at birth."

"Are they coming here?" the twins asked.

"No. The boy twin is allergic to pets and they are both a packaged deal," Susan said.

Their twins felt bad and understood why they could not come. "How old are they?"

"Four," Grace replied. The kids nodded at their mama and mommy.

Grace returned to the present day as she saw the twins playing. Susan joined her and sat near her wife on the bench as her cell rang and it was Jackson Owens.

"Hi Jackson. What's going on?" Susan asked.

"Good how are you?"

"Good and wondering about the call?" she asked curious.

"Ana Gutierrez is out of prison and she got Jesus and Mariana out of foster care, they will be six in a month."

"And?" she asked.

"Ana wants to see the twins," Jackson replied. Susan's eyes went wide. She was scared and worried.

"SHE CAN'T. SHE HAS NO RIGHTS!" Susan shouted as Grace eyed her and the twins stopped playing. Grace went to occupy the twins attention as Susan went into the house to speak with Jackson Owens in depth.

"She knows that Susan. She just wants to see them."

"I don't care what she wants. She's not their mother."
